There have been 3 major flooding storms since 2004. They continue to build back in the same places that have flooded before. I am curious how they can get insurance at this point. There are reasons that many places in Asheville hadn't been built upon. So many newcomers to Asheville and many built in the wrong places, not realizing the history that the local people knew. That area of Tunnel Road by Porter Cove Road... That area was simply not built on for decades because of its history. So now we see a relatively new house washing down Swanannoa River with the flood there. I watched development go on with quite a lot of amazement, after land had been left idle for decades and decades. There's a reason people didn't bother with it. If you look closely you can see the scars of the past on the land. You can see where a peak water level had once been decades and even a hundred years ago. I'm not surprised that the Rocky Broad is also flooding again, yet so much big (new) money had built around it. Locals wouldn't build there, but the newcomers would because they don't know what the kocals know.

Ever wonder why they use the words catastrophic so many times and rare and massive. Just something to think about
Never in modern history --- Until technology.
Because they are good, descriptive words about disaster and weather records being smashed over half the country.? One county in NC got 30 inches of rain in 24 hours. That's about 2.5 years worth. A warmer atmosphere holds more water. It just needs a trigger. This triggers name is Helene.
@@TeasLouise Microwaves = heat applied. See it?
@@TeasLouiseweather records that have only been accurately kept for maybe a 100 years. How old is the earth??????
@@Oldschoolrules123 From your name I would think you learned the earth preserves records of drought, rain, heat or cold cycles, atmospheric gas composition and even radioactivity in tree rings, ice cores, sediment layers etc. That's like.. 10th grade science.
The earth hasn't been this hot since it was highly volcanic and dinosaurs roamed. Now we are the volcanoes. It's really that simple.

Shocking

Why they build cardboard houses?
Wow.

Thank you. And other Americans from like New York and other states are moving into North Carolina building house and destroying the environment and making it unaffordable for local people to live which is sad Thank you❤
What about the MOLD, next month?
When life gives you mold, make penicillin.
