Very possible that it was just the lighting or dyed, I've had 4 different hair colors since i was 13 and im 14 now.
And some people hair darkens naturally over time, people can be born with really light hair that just gets darker naturally over time.

Unless your marcin from Poland. He’s mastered guitar. Still can improve but I’ve never seen anyone that can do what he does. He just turned 21 within like the last week or so but yeah he’s wild.
Lucas is good and has put in the work but each generation has the Benefits of learning From what everyone had learned and created. There is so much available to learn from you can learn some much from just the internet watching videos practicing and having chords for songs etc. so it’s bound to happen that someone is gonna surpass previous generations.

As a musician myself (self-taught, not classically trained like you) watching someone's musical journey is always a delight. It takes me back to when I picked up a clarinet for the first time and having absolutely no idea what to do with it, and now I hardly even have to think about it.
100 guitarist have the same story and 99% of them failed to pay their rent and switched to menial job. But you survived. Glad you survived. Take huge love and respect. 🍷

@@clement7409 i dont know much about books, i would recommend taking a few private / online classes to get started. The jazz manouche style (django Reinhardt) is a great starting point. Learn how to build chords, the basic major scales and arpeggios

Boy, that really says everything about the incredible over the top difficulty of making a living as a musician. You can play for decades and live as a monk, devoting your ENTIRE time to practice and yet, still live in poverty while still having followed supposedly every "right step" of the process. Orchestra playing, studying in every prestigious music college, etc and yet having to teach young brats to simply eat. I guess there is a form of historical consistency though since the vast majority of artists have always remained poor as dirt (look at how Mozart ended lol). At least, TH-cam allowed Lucas to make a living thanks to guitar. But let's think of all the other "Lucas" who play just as well and who have to give it up in order not to starve...
Lot of truth in this. However Mozart made a pretty good living on his music. He is said to be one of the first one to do so. But he had a gambling problem. So he spend most of his money on card games and booz. In the end of his life he was quite poor because he was in a lot of debt, because of his reckles spending
your progress at 14 is incredible. I started at about 14 and was playing Django at 20. I can't tell you how much I envy people who went to music school. I was the best musician in my school and the best artist and my family would not even consider sending me to art or music school

I'm 15 and I have been playing for about 3 and a half years, but I wasn't satysfied with my progress at all, but after watching your video, I realized that I should take things more paciently and have fun while playing. This has been a very moving video for me, since I see some parallels in the overall development compared to my journey as a guitarist (so far). I started playing the guitar when I was 12 and took electrical guitar lessons by a nearby teacher for almost 5 years - until Corona kicked in, but it wasn't all too bad, since I had to quit lessons somewhere in that year anyway because I thought I needed to move for Uni. Turns out, everything is digital and it doesn't make any sense to move. Anyways, we mostly did your usual Bluesy, Jazzy, Rock-kind-of stuff that you'd expect on an electrical guitar, but after the lessons ended I was stuck in a hefty rut. Nothing moved forward nor backward, I felt no motivation to practice whatsoever and thought I hit a road block in my skills (early intermediate you could call it). Then Uni started and it became really busy for me. Then my girlfriend quit. At this point, guitar was my least concern and I even didn't really do much for Uni until close before the exams. This time was the most stressful, emotionally draining, depressing and exhaustful time of my life. But it was also the time I discovered your videos and also the ones of similar artists like Emil Ernebro or the amazing Tommy Emmanuel. I also discovered Brandon Acker and gradually developed a refined taste in (old) acoustic instruments and Classical music. It made me listen to so much pieces and the fulfilment felt endless. Some time in I thought to myself (rather jokingly) that someday I'm going to buy a classical guitar and play all of those beautiful pieces I hummed with my mouth and that kept stuck in my head. Then you did the videos on Francisco Tárrega and Barrios. I was comitted, especially to Tárrega. I didn't know him yet, but the unbelievable beauty of his pieces lit up the fiery desire inside of me to play every single piece by him that has been published. And now we're here at 6 ½ years, me playing classical guitar for like 4 months and learning new repertoire pieces on a weekly basis, sometimes practicing for hours every single day and sucking up several different books containing notes, technique advise and music theory like a sponge with a daily hunger to buy more (I study computer science, so I can afford it, fortunately). It makes me feel things I had forgotten from my life, that I only remembered from memories when I just started out playing the guitar and making little step-by-step, yet steady and joyful progress. It even affected the discipline, effectivity and motivation for my Uni studies a whole lot. Never have I ever made so much progress in such little time, feeling so dedicated and fulfilled along the way and this is also partly due to the enjoyable content you have been making and that I'm so happy to watch.

My favourite clip from the moment I heard it was Lucas at 14 playing Django, then he took a crazy tour through the rigid ways of classical music and then came back to where he started. The same place but now with all those mad classical skillz!!

After watching this, my husband and I who have been playing together for 30 years or so, just had the best rehearsal of our lives. We started out in a band together in our 20s and went through blues rock jazz and finally landed on gypsy jazz. I feel so free to enjoy it now thank you so much.

This is a wonderful share Lucas, I recently started to ponder the concept of "enjoying the journey" and is much more profound as it seems. We are often too much obsessed in "where" we are going without thinking instead of "why"? It is almost impossible to answer to the first question, or at least, doesn't make much sense, while to the second is much simpler: we love playing and we should do regardless.
This is such a brilliant idea! It was really fascinating, and quite touching actually. I was especially moved by your appreciation of the support you’ve received from others and how fortunate you were to grow up in a country that nurtures the arts and provides education. This video shows how hard you have worked, and how much you value the support you’ve been given. On that basis l think if anyone deserves to make a living in music it’s someone like you. You must be so happy that you have this footage of yourself as you started out young and went through the years. I know I’m happy to see your evolution. It’s just so remarkable refreshing and inspiring! I am almost 68 and just working on the level six exam for CGCA I’ve been playing for Over 40 years, and still A beginning and intermediate, but finally have the time to be studying with a good program. I love watching all your solo work I prefer to play in community either ensemble or duet etc. but there’s always the occasion where I will need to play solo especially at exam time. Your videos are refreshing you’re an out-of-the-box thinker!

I wish I had a supportive environment and access to teachers more than a year. It's been 13 years since I've started bass playing and I can't help thinking I could have done better if I had the right people around me at the right time. But still, the joy of learning is still here and it doesn't matter in the end.
What truly matters is enjoying making and sharing music.

I just watched my dad's films of me as a kid for the first time. Can really see how into music I was already as a kid. With a surprising understanding of rhythm already then.

Just want to add I really dig and love the "Django songs" on the video you were performing and the 15 year old vs 35 year old comparison (Valls no#3 by Barrios - is the spelling correct?)....so congrats, it's great to hear a guitarist succeed and it's no surprise your from Sweden just like my other idol the shred king Yngwie J. I started playing at 13 when I saw how my father, a professional guitar player, was teaching his students and how much joy they had. Sadly, I didn't do my best to take all I could from him while it was possible :( I played the guitar more for fun and usually while a computer game was loading... The only time I learned and practised something hard was when I discovered Bohemian Rhapsody in Edgar Cruse arrangement 12 years ago :)
But 1.5 years ago, at 33, I made a decision to play and exercise deliberately. So since then I play every day. 562 days so far :) Maybe not as deliberate as I wish, but way more consistent than when I was a kid. Learning pieces I want and find challenging. Just finished learning Autumn Leaves by Yenne Lee, and you saying that you could spend a year on polishing a melody makes me feel relieved as I don't need to perform the way you had to, so I could be satisfied with 'good enough' :) but it also makes me appreciate your and other professional guitarists dedication and hard work.
Enjoying your channel a lot. If you decide on another video about amazing guitarists, I'd suggest you take a look at Maxim Chigintsev (Максим Чигинцев). For example his 'Concerto pour une voix' or 'Pogonya' (Погоня) which I found tremendous joy learning :)

Your 14 year old Django is fantastically good. Trying to think of your current jazzing is better. I dunno… that was hard to beat. It’s free of the excessive artifice of experienced players. I’d buy his record.
