I used to used to re-band those types of break systems for large ships, but they were for the winch systems, not the anchor. Engineers are great on paper, though not always in practice.
Before idiot got that chunk of wood in the face while it spun, I immediately noticed he had no face protection while wood working!!!! I hope it didn't hurt too badly.... well maybe a little.

When I worked on ships sometimes my job was to guide the anchor chain in with a steel hook down below in the chain locker, it was like 20ish minutes of being inches away from destination F.
