Their version on Live Right Here Right Now was my first time hearing it, and I was thinking 'which VH album has this?' - only after did I find out that it was a Sammy solo track! Indeed, Eddie takes it to the stratosphere!! Love this song for driving!

So now you know....when people talk smack about Van Hagar...Sammy is actually a very good guitarist in his own right. Dave was a great performer, but it was a lot of entertaining antics. Van Hagar didn't need the antics. There was pure talent going on there. I love the Van Hagar days just as much as the Dave days. I just want to say also I really appreciate the authentic appreciation you have for VH.
Asia and BJ, you said it "There is no other" & "It's a whole nother level"! Eddie is in a class all his own alone...he is The GOAT!! As a lot of people have said there was Mozart, Beethoven, Hendrix, then Eddie...period!!!
everybody's talking about Eddie Van Halen and Samny Hagar (and deservedly so) but let's not ever forget about Alex Van Halen on drums and Michael Anthony on that bass guitar, without the drive of that rhythm section nothing else matters...
EDDIE VAN HALEN was a rock GOD. Yes there is SRV, yes Jimmy Hendrix, but when it comes to a guitar being part of a person , there is NO OTHER IN THIS WORLD like Eddie. And I love ACDC, so don’t get me wrong. Angus is and will always be my number 1 performer!! But this concert only showed a 10th of what Eddie Van GOOD GOD can do. RIP EVH. No other will ever attain his gift!!!
@@chrisa4695 Oh yes me to. Like I said Angus Young has always been my favorite. The sound I first heard as a child in the 80s, blew me away. Makes you feel a certain way! ACDCs sound was just in fire. Back In Black to this day fires me so up!! I know every word, sound, lyric , chord, and emotion. But Eddie was just beyond human with a guitar.
I went to see them on the 5150 tour, (and saw them on the Diver Down tour with Roth) it was intense 'cause people were hyped up to see how Sammy would do- right out the gate. It was loud as F**k, I don't think the crowd stopped screamin' the whole time. It was a party outside as well as inside. Great times!!🤘🤘🍺
Eddie…. So missed RIP. Those of us who were there from the beginning of Van Halen in the 70s, were so in love with David Lee Roth, on vocals. He was handsome, athletic and very “colorful” on stage. When he left to go on his own, Sammy Hagar came in. Honestly, I fought that for a while but adding that third guitar to Eddie and Michael was genius. Sammy has vocals and guitar chops, as well as Michael Anthony on bass. But it didn’t last long…. Glad Eddie and Sammy reconciled toward the end.
Their very first performance they opened with this on live without a net and it absolutely kicked all kinds of ass these 4 were like no other band that has ever walked this planet. God blessed us with them . VH with Sammy was hands down the greatest band ever
Back in these days, this was usually their opening song. They would come out on fire and it would never stop. You'd be exhausted at the end of the show. Every song is like this in the Van Hagar days. Far superior to DLR days. I've seen both in their prime.

I would rate this 10/Hagar. Written by Sammy and released originally in 1982 on the Standing Hampton album which itself is a kick ass album with songs like "Baby's On Fire" and "Heavy Metal"

The version of this song on" Live Without A Net" is my favorite live rendition of this particular song! Eddie's showmanship REALLY comes through on THAT performance!
I saw them live in concert doing this kind of stuff about three or four years earlier. It's pretty amazing to see Eddie and Sammy Hagar bounce off of each other both are awesome guitar players in their own right. They're also both great keyboardist and singers. The only other guitar that I know that was on that stage would have been Michael Anthony playing bass. I made me smile to see you guys smile and enjoy it as much as I did, sadly there will never ever be another Eddie and sammy show.
What's up guys great reactions! This is one of Sammy Hagar's solo hits. He's a great rocker in his own right. You guys should definitely travel down that rabbit hole lol!
Every Van Halen concert was top notch and 110%....they never let up....ever. I remember an interview where Sammy Hagar talks about joining Van Halen and how he had to step up because he was joining a band with a music legend-EVH. They performed well together.
The Tokyo 1989 preformance is the best I've ever seen live. They were all preforming amazing, and as far as I'm aware in Japan they would have a hard time getting drugs, so perhaps it's one of their few sober shows. Though you'd think it was fueled by meth.

I'm one of those people who grew up in the 80's and I was a fan of Sammy Hagar BEFORE he joined the band. This is my favorite era of VH and I personally love the two-guitar live attack. The third guitar you mention is the bass guitar. Every band needs a bass. Paired with the drums they are the "rhythm section." They are the foundation but never get enough credit.
I first saw Sammy Hager when he opened up for Boston in the late 70s. He was in a duel just like you watched and the power went out. Needless to say he wasnt able to finish but being my first concert, he left a lasting impression. Check out Chickenfoot and Sammy and the circle. He is still rockin it.

I always thought Van Hagar missed out on a good opportunity with Sammy not playing as much on their records. I mean sonically that was amazing. They should’ve done this way more.
Now you're talking give me some Vann Halen with Sammy Hagar singing and Van Halen was at it's peak. They were great because they had Eddy on guitar. Alex on drums and Michael on bass and singing backup Van Halen was greatest with Sammy singing, this is the Van Halen I love
Van Halen 1986 concert video called "Live Without a Net" which took place at the very beginning of when Sammy joined Van Halen and you can see the amount of fun they are having, it's just amazing. I've never seen this version before, but damn they killed it here too. They played the same song on "Live Without a Net" too and just killed.
Make no mistake - - - this song ranks top 5 of all rock n roll songs - sammy hager and roth were both amazing - I saw them both over half a dozen times - i watch this and want to go back to one more concert - but cant - - anybody young enough to enjoy the 80s - - - literally every week for 9 straight years there was some phenominal rock classic - i was born circa 1980 but looking back many born in that decade experienced very interesting times for rock n roll indeed - - i was there- i saw them and i can remember that it was a concert that lasted 4 hours - im rambling on so ill just describe them in 2 words Fucking Awesome!! PS - that entire concert was oozing columnbian pure
First let me say I love Van Halen. Original line up and with Sammy. I love Eddie. He is the greatest gutairist of all time. However wat amazes me during this time. Eddie was a full blown cocaine addict and alcoholic. And yet still was able to perform flawlessly. I guess it was routine for him. Incredible. RIP EDDIE VAN HALEN
Can’t take it! Eddie was the best! He played crazy but made it look so effortless! Still love original Van Halen but Sammy does know how to rock! And they are always on fire!!!!❤️
I really liked this song when Sammy released solo, but it blew up with Eddie guitar improvs and Michael Anthony's backup vocals. I saw them perform this in 1987 Cow Palace in SF.
No one reacts to the song “women and children first” or “could this be magic”. Both are amazing songs that have a chill groove. Excellent guitar and crafty lyrics.
Okay so the next song you want to check out from this concert is called Black and Blue listen to the background vocals and see how in sync they are in the harmonies everything it's not just the guitars and this is a stadium that they're playing in called the Tokyo Dome
That song was a hit for Sammy Hagar before he joined Van Halen.
Of course Ed’s guitar work takes the song to a whole new level.
Thanks for saying it for me.👍

Van Halen 1986 concert video called "Live Without a Net" which took place at the very beginning of when Sammy joined Van Halen and you can see the amount of fun they are having, it's just amazing. I've never seen this version before, but damn they killed it here too. They played the same song on "Live Without a Net" too and just killed.
God blessed us all with Eddie Van Halen
One of my favorite Sammy Hagar songs of all time.
Saw them live many times you have no idea what it is like to be there !
This is from their one and only live album “Right Here, Right Now”…..or at least from that tour……it’s one of my favorites!
It’s from the OU812 tour.
I've seen Van Halen live 100 times! they are the best and I was so spoiled....RIP Eddy!
Great music always touches the heart!
No one reacts to the song “women and children first” or “could this be magic”. Both are amazing songs that have a chill groove. Excellent guitar and crafty lyrics.
Yes I agree, or Big Bad Bill.
Agree . also...Judgement Day...5150....so much more to dive into with incredible.
Okay so the next song you want to check out from this concert is called Black and Blue listen to the background vocals and see how in sync they are in the harmonies everything it's not just the guitars and this is a stadium that they're playing in called the Tokyo Dome
