In Toronto, Corten seems to be a fair bit more expensive than stainless 304 and 316, so I would never use it as a fabricator/designer - I would always go to stainless first, which IMO will perform better. If you want a rusty colour on stainless, it is possible - without too much difficulty. Use the lower grade 304, don't passivate it, and probably douse it a little with vineger, etc. I've not tried this, but I have seen stainless outdoors a fair bit and it rusts extremely lightly and slowly if it is 304. You can get a gentle slightly shiny rust patina for sure.

Hi, what is the required thickness for the planter or even wall separate different levels for landscape?

any info on what Welding rods are used to match the patina of the Corten steel? those boxes looked to be folded in a way to prevent any external welding, or is it? any info appreciated.

If you put it on concrete, does the rusty color bleed down when it rains, or does it stay put on the steel?
Oh NVM, they discuss it in the video. It does bleed or rub off but after a while, that stops.

Interesting. I found this looking up "metal bin retaining walls" which I take it are made of Cor-Ten :) Maybe that's why (if I remember right), when CT DOT install new retaining walls as they are now in Route 8 on some places, it looks all rusted when it's new.
