These weekly recaps have become a part of my Sunday morning routine. I got to say the coyotes with the massive come back against Vegas definitely made my week.
@@Electron-qg1oy People thinks it's exaggerated, but I know how much the team I root for is hated. And it gives me a smug smile to rival that of the Grinch.
The upcoming NHL Playoffs are a gamblers worst nightmare. There's so much parity and its impossible to call outright favorites. We tend to complain about the salary cap, but it makes it the most competitive league in the world.
@rickpapineau5939 I’m sorry we got to the playoffs with half our major players on injury for a ton of games and Tampa has low taxes. Sorry that we have to pull our reserve players in nearly every year and still be a top league contender. Yeah it’s not great that we got around salary cap due to injuries but getting to playoffs with mostly 3rd stringers has gotta mean something.
Personally I don't like it. Hockey is already the sport where luck plays the largest role in outcomes. Adding the cap and resulting parity just means every team is pretty much the same. I know hockey fans like to talk trash when their teams win or act like the teams that loose are some how worse than their team but it's all BS. Any of the top 10 to 15 teams can win. Sure, maybe a couple of the east wild card level teams have elements you can see make them a touch weaker but even there....in the small sample size of a 7 game series, you just never know. But the rest of the teams? Forget it. Nobody knows who's going to win and anyone who thinks their team is a "favorite" against any other playoff team, is just in complete denial about what the league is. I also think it's made the cup less special. Quick...without looking, who won the cup 3 years ago? 5? 6? 9? Nobody even cares aside from the fans of that city. In many ways the Presidents trophy is a much better indicator of who the real best team is. I don't want to go back to the 70's or early 80's with only one team wining for 4 or 5 years straight, but I think the cap rules need to be relaxed a little bit so some teams can have more sustained success over a longer period.
More sustained success? Did you miss the last decade plus? Youve got multiple teams thats mostly stayed strong and appeared in or won multiple stanley cups. Pittsburgh, Boston, LA, Tampa, and Chicago were/are all dominant teams with sustained success. The biggest problem with modern NHL is the game is too punishing and the finals are often less about good hockey than they are the last team with a somewhat healthy team.
I live in a tropical country and never skate once in my life. Last year at the beginning of the season, fate brought me to NHL. Now I’m binge watching your channel. I’m new to sport and don’t quite get all the rules. The race for the WC in Eastern conference confuses me but I’m on the edge rooting for 🐧 anyway😂
Rempe elbowed Devils defenseman Siegenthaler in the head a couple weeks ago n got suspended 4 games for it. Rempe also got a game misconduct for that elbow so that was the first chance MacDermid cld get at him.
The wild card race in the East and the fight for 3rd in the Metro division is wildly entertaining. Having 5 teams within 1-2 points of each other, fighting for a playoff spot with 5-6 games left is amazing hockey. .
Thanks for the recap, dude. Watching your videos and Chiclets has become a weekly habit for me to stay checked in with the league. Much appreciated. Also, this has been an absolutely insane season of hockey. The NHL is trending in a great direction and it's fucking fun.
As a panthers fan, seeing how the guys have played without Verhaeghe and Ekblad going on a week now. Their resolve and playing up to competition they can turn it on against the top teams but doesn’t feel like they want to go playoff mode in the last regular season games
It was a busy week for me as I went to three games in three different arenas in my efforts to go to all the NHL arenas. I was at the Islanders' comeback against the Blackhawks at UBS Arena, the Flyers' stinker against the Sabres at Keybank Center. Oh yeah, and the fight night that was interrupted by a hockey game at Madison Square Garden.
The Rags/Devs line brawl game was the first hockey game my gf ever watched with me. I told her it usually doesn’t go like this and she’s getting insanely spoiled that this was her first game
You should’ve mentioned the shot disparity in the Stars v Hawks game! Big D laid siege on their net and Mrazek held firm, guess the team is really the Bedard & Mrazek show.
I look forward to these videos every week! That "brawl" at the end of the Devils/Sens game was hardly a brawl. It was at most a chippy scuffle. Refs shut it down quickly
Imagine being the Wings season ticket holder that lives in Hell, Michigan. Literally traveling from Hell and back to watch the Wings play. Couldn’t be me.. 😅
I just want to shout out the Blue Jackets fan base. Yall are a different breed man. Small market GARBAGE team and yet you never hear a empty rink joke Ill always cheer for them if they make a run, they have Rudy energy
As an Oilers fan this season has been absolutely freaking wild. From where we were to 3 points behind Vancouver is crazy. McDavid being 112th in Scoring on Novermber 3rd to having a shot at winning the scoring title is wild 16 game winning streak and 2 other 8 game winning streaks Hyman with 52 goals Crazy season for so many teams.
Thanks for mentioning Shane Wright. He has looked solid for the Kraken since getting the call up. Hopefully, he will have a break out season in 2024-25.
Tkachuk needs to chill... this guy ignites rage mode at literally anything now 🙄 Hischier couldn't have ended that game any calmer. What's he gonna do, leave the puck in the crease??
Really wanted Crosby in the playoffs* Most fixes this time of year are rarely about the game itself but its implications in the standings. Bettman knows who the money boys are.
You forgot to note that Ovi scored Goal #850. That's so huge and now with #851, he is 43 behind Gretzky's record which seems to be getting closer and closer.
My dad and I took my son to see the Penguins vs. Lightning game for his first in-person hockey experience. I don't think we could have asked for a more thrilling game for his first.
as a pens fan, the stars truly aligned for us on friday. i can’t wait to have my heart broken by this team when we miss playoffs at the very end of the season
The unsung hero for the Pens recently has been Alex Nedelkovic. 9 straight starts and helping close down the games, him and O’Connor are bright stars for next season
"Best team when nothing matters". Man, if that doesn't sum up the Sabres, I don't know what does.
So many blowout wins for a team that's not even playing 500 hockey.
As a Sabres fan I can confirm that it's true
sid ‘the middle aged man’ will never not be funny
