This trailer brought joyous tears to my eyes as it reminded this 52 year old of myself as a kid playing star wars with my friends, running around shopping malls or on the local playground.

Extreme tonal whiplash between talking about SKELETON CREW/ E.T./ STRANGER THINGS/ THE GOONIES into “heat exhaustion can lead to meat exhaustion.”
I admit that at first glance, suburban elements on Star Wars are little strange considering what we have seen so far.
It doesn't make sense but the goal is to remake et/goonies in space.
Yeah, I’m struggling a bit. Yes, a logical argument can absolutely be made for this. But, this isn’t about logic. This isn’t supposed to look like home. It’s supposed to look like a Galaxy far far away.
This looks like an entertaining idea, but one that makes sense in any other universe BUT Star Wars.
A gigantic galactic empire is definitely bound to have some middle class citizens who live on Earth like planets, that aspect doesn't bother me. I just feel that this is aimed at kids and families (and of course the 80s nostalgia factor for older fans) and that is perfectly fine, I probably won't get much interest out of it, but it is a cool concept
It seems the difference is you’re open to it (somewhat at least as you’re not lashing out “THIS AINT STAR WARS!”).
I’ll never understand that with an entire galaxy full of stories people only want the same story on repeat- corn fed white boy that kisses his sister and get into fights with his dad

I loved seeing Captain E.O. at Disneyland. They use to have Hunny in shrunk the kids, then A bugs life, but Captain E.O. Was my favorite at the theatre

Feels like the characters have to push their speeder bikes through the forest just so that the director could reference 80s kids movies, even though the most famous speeder bike scene is a forest chase.
It also feels like they just made Max Reebo jr because they needed a token alien character, and didn’t bother to give him the correct anatomy because it’s hard to notice his weird limbs in the original trilogy, and they just didn’t look hard enough

Crazy coincidence… I just finished watching Cinemasins coverage of the entire Pirates of the Caribbean series…
He was on camera holding one of the kids hands saying they shared a bed… when his house was raided there was an entire suitcase of S&M gear and erotica under his bed. I’m not saying he was guilty, but there was very little to prove his innocence.

This is by far Star Wars meets Goonies. Takes place in the forbidden city of Astoria. I like it. Looks fun for the kids and this is what George wanted Star Wars to always be.

Even though this Cleary takes inspiration from loads of 80' 90's movies. This still looks way better than the Acolyte. Probably because Dave has a bigger part in it and the Kathleen so that's a win already.
But this looks fun and kinda like seeing more of what regular life is like in SW .
