Clearly the Portuguese aren't doing any harm, they just love pastel de nata so much and want the rest of the world to love it as much as they do! Pastéis de nata were created before the 18th century by monks at the Hieronymites Monastery in the civil parish of Saint Mary of Bethlehem, in Lisbon. At the time, convents and monasteries used large quantities of egg-whites for starching clothes, such as friars and nuns' religious habits. It was quite common for monasteries and convents to use the leftover egg yolks to make cakes and pastries, resulting in the proliferation of sweet pastry recipes throughout the country. In the aftermath of the Liberal Revolution of 1820, following the dissolution of religious orders and in the face of the impending closure of many convents and monasteries, the monks started selling pastéis de nata at a nearby sugar refinery to bring in revenue. In 1834, the monastery was closed and the recipe sold to the sugar refinery, whose owners in 1837 opened the Fábrica de Pastéis de Belém.
Macau is quite serious with its gambling! In an attempt to generate revenues for the government, gambling in Macau was legalized by the Portuguese government in 1849. The industry saw a major breakthrough in 1962 when the government granted the monopoly rights to all forms of gambling to Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau (STDM). The STDM introduced Western-style games and modernized ferries between Macau and Hong Kong, bringing millions from Hong Kong. Around the same time, there was huge Cultural Revolution-inspired riots called the 12-3 incident in December 1966 and after that happened, the colonial government (but not the Estado Novo regime) recognized Macau as de facto PRC control, although the colonial government of course remained. It wasn't until the Carnation Revolution that the Portuguese started the transition to PRC control. The STDM license was extended in 1986 for another 15 years but expired at the end of 2001. In the 1990s, there was some crazy triad violence over who'd control the casinos after Portuguese handover that the Portuguese did nothing about! In 2002, Macau ended the STDM monopoly and granted concessions to Western companies like Las Vegas Sands and Wynn Resorts. Las Vegas Sands saw Macau's potential as Macau got a lot of revenue from Mainlanders as gambling's banned in Mainland, and so they created a new Las Vegas Strip called the Cotai Strip, effectively uniting Coloane and Taipa as one island
As a Portuguese person it's a very pleasant surprise to see you play my nation in HOI4. There was a mod called Portugal Reworked 2.0 which took the focus tree and added a load of spicy focuses as well as interesting decisions, it's a shame it's discontinued.

10:12 Order 66 still works, you probably did it wrong. You have to declare on either an ally to the nation you wnat to order 66 or on a country they guarantee. If you do it on their puppet or directly on them it doesn't work.
