I use the same system to process all the edges from the 1” boards I mill on my sawmill. It’s still labour intensive, I’m always open to a better solution. Thanks for sharing! Jeff.
Chop saw beats using a chainsaw for scrap milled lumber, esp if each board is different. If one didn't care the size, using something like a sawbuck would be great with a chainsaw. Always open to a better, more efficient way of doing things. Thanks for watching, Jeff. This heat wave while doing the cord challenge is kicking my a$$, but it'll be up for ya soon. Keep cuttin'!
Chop saw is what my dad taught me to call it too😂 dad is a makita guy too💪 It's great to see all that nice cedar being put to good use, it's a great aroma even when not being burned, one of my favorites!!! Good idea using the chop saw, I've used one as well making " mini" wood, but there's no market for that, not enough rich folk in my area for that specialized wood. 😂😂 happy Wednesday Travis 🤜🤛
Sounds like our dads could be best friends, ha! Gotta love the smell of cedar, but I know not everyone has access to that wood. Glad you know your local market enough to cater your wood sales accordingly. Happy Wednesday, Jack. Keep cuttin'!
Good use of scrap. A couple of days ago I worked up my own cedar slabs and log ends that built up after sawing cedar siding and got a full IBC of 16" long kindling to bundle size wood. Its baking in the sun now and smells great.
Dimensional lumber cut offs is what I would call it. I have burnt lots of it but never as pretty as yours. Excellent camp fire stuff or I split lots down into kindling same as you. 100 degrees is gross, on the east coast we are waiting for the ass end of the hurricane to soak us. Stay safe Travis.

Waste not. Want not. Good use of the scraps.
Many thanks, just hope it sells. Keep cuttin' Russ!
Always use a n-95 mask when working with cedar as you will develop allergic reaction to the cedar oils.
Many thanks for the tip, John. Keep cuttin'!
