The card has a very unique and specific effect. Cards like that only disappear if they are power crept or banned. Don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

Trying to bring players to the game with unstable hype? Not encouraging to invest in a game that my opponent wont let me play. I had enough of yugioh that way.
Can can’t take any action during your opponent’s turn, so it’s not as bad as some other tcg yet. And if your deck isn’t using actions, it is a useless card. With no sidedecking allowed in Lorcana, it’s a real risk-reward style kind of card.

It says until start of your next turn. That's both players turn for a cycle.
