35:19 - For backing up all the image files, I recommend a free program called Free File Sync (on Windows, maybe others). The best part is you can select a whole list of specific folders to replicate from one device to another, and then save that list. So you get all of what you need and none of what you don't. There are various sync methods so you can make your backup always match the tablet, or make them match each other (so files archived out of the backup folder get removed from the device to clear up space), or other methods. Oh my Teoh. Clip Studio Paint user here, I come from an Ipad 2021 12,9. I bought the Tab S9 Ultra thanks to your Tab S8 Ultra review, I could not wait for your video, but I don't regret it, I love it ! The file management is so, so easier, i'ts big, its fast, its awesome ! However, I don't like the stylus, I dont know why, and I dont want to get used to, so your recommandations are awesome. I'll go with the LAMY EMR, and I'll take a Wacom One Pen just in case. I dont like soft tip, too much resistance, so I'll go with a hard one. Do you recommand me to protect my screen if I use a hard tip ? Because I didn't biy one yet, I'm comfortable without it. Your video is amazing as always, thanks bro !
I don't think a screen protector is necessary, but I have another new tablet that developed a scratch in the first month so... Plastic tip will not scratch glass. My S8U does not have screen protector but I use that mostly at home.
Damn, I have 2014 Note and looking about trying to get a bigger and less resistant stylus, did they not change at all since that time? At least they could offer different nibs, the rubbery one is great for details, but not for big fast sketch strokes😤
@@Lilian040210 The physical design of the pen for Tab S7, S8, S9 are similar. But S Pen designs for other tablets may differ. But drawing and writing performance is similar. Anyway, you can always get plastic nib for writing.
Thanks for the review. I have an S9+ with 5G and love it. Can I ask, what camera are you using to aim downward at the tablet, and how do you have it mounted? I want to do something similar for my TH-cams, but I will be marking up charts or Excel spreadsheets. Thanks.
Hello, I have a problem, I bought this Tablet, when I look directly at the tablet, the color is white, but when you look at an angle, a pink tint is visible on the screen, tell me whether this is a factory defect, or if it should be like this. Thank you
Question, when I am using the Mediabang and Clip art apps for drawing. I put the maximum correction option for a smoother drawing but it's not working on Samsung Galaxy tab S8 or S9. May I ask why?
@@teohontech7141 There's a stabilization option which I put to maximum 20 for making the sketch smooth. It's not working on Tab S8 or s9 even on app clip art
I was considering tab S9 with S pen for precise drawing experience. However I am second guessing now after watching your review. Could you please tell If very thin precise drawings are possible with S pen?
But will other pens have the additional customizable functions that come by default with S pen side button? I don't want to miss those If I am spending money on this expensive tablet.@@teohontech7141
Brad - - Samsung 7 FE + versus 9 FE+ strictly for drawing (infinite painter and sketchbook are primary apps) ? Is the 9 worth an additional $275 ? Trying to decide on which way to go personally. Thanks for the videos !! I always appreciate your art-focused reviews !!!
Thank you for the review. I'm between s9 ultra and s9 plus, I will decide when they release prices in my country. If the prices are too steep I will go with the ipad pro 11. I have a s6 lite 2020 and it still holds but it's obviously limited.
Teoh do you feel that clip studio paint is better on the S9U than S8U? The reviews of S8U i have always seen and heard them say that panning, rotating zooming in CSP feels a little bit choppy. and that brush lag... how can people use this software
Performance seems similar. It doesn't seem like CSP is running at 120Hz so maybe that's why the navigation animations look more choppy. But there's no lag.
@@teohontech7141 thanks man! thats strange, is there a setting to enable it to 120hz because itd be a real shame if the animations are still choppy since you move around a lot

Wacom One. www.parkablogs.com/content/wacom-one-pen-vs-other-emr-pens-artist-review But it's the Samsung S Pen that can attach magnetically to the side of the tablet. There are some YT videos that show how the stuck nib can be removed.
@teohontech7141 its really stuck. Im planning to buy the staedler or the lamy, WACOM looks a bit strange looking but if tyats what you'd suggest then ill take it thank you very much
@@teohontech7141 lastly my good sir, does the S9 you are using have a screen protector? just curious because some videos tell me that jittering is caused by the screen protector
Hello Teoh, Do you have any experience of using the Kindle Scribe Premium Pen with the Tab S9? Would love to know if it is fully compatible (the eraser!) with Concepts specifically. I have found videos that show it works well with Samsung Notes for example, but can't see anything about it's compatibility or the experience in any drawing apps. Thanks for the great videos!
@@teohontech7141 Hi Teoh, just to update. I took a chance and purchased the pen anyway. It functions very well in Concepts, the eraser and side-button work as expected. The activation pressure seems to be about the same as the S-Pen, which I'm used to at this point, and even tilt seems to work similarly. It also will magnetically attach to the top-right/back of the tablet, though not as strongly as the S-Pen. Note that I tried this on my Tab S8+ as I'm still waiting for my Tab S9 Ultra to turn up (should be here early next week 🤞). so mileage might vary.
Hi Teoh, I'm mulling a Morefine M9 connected to an XP Pen 24 tablet monitor. The M9 will be replacing a Surface Pro 2017. Have you looked into any of these mini PCs for art?
I am a university student studying data science and machine learning. I am looking to buy a new tablet and am undecided between the S9 Ultra and the S9 Plus. I will use the tablet for meetings, note taking, studying, writing, and storing files. I will be using the tablet for long periods of time. Which tablet would you ultimately recommend?
Plus is good enough. Ultra is for people who often use SamsungDex on tablet screen, split screen multi-tasking, apps with many UI elements that take up space, and external wireless display
A PWM question. Can you tell if there is a difference between the tab S8 ultra and the s9 ultra regarding PWM, flickering? are they the same, less...? I'm very interested to know this point. I read it is significally less flickering on the S9 ultra but don't know if this is acurated. Thanks in advance.
@@teohontech7141 Yes, I know that it is not visible at naked eye. Just an idea, If you still have the two tablets, you could put them together, equalize the brightness (to the maximum and to the minimum) and record a video with your phone in slow motion. This way we will know without any doubt if there is any difference between them in terms of flickering-PWM. You could make a short youtube video with it and, also, you would be the first to do it. In any case, thank you for answering.
I don't have a tablet and i really want to start drawing again... but i also want to have the processing power to play games (ex: genshin, azur lane, etc...) so i was considering buying a Tab S9 (11inch) is it worth it ?
Two years ago I got the 8GB RAM/256GB SSD Tab S7 Plus in Mystic Navy it was $356 from Samsung with a Tab S4 Trade-In I got off ebay for $175, they gave me $400 trade-in credit, so my total cost from Samsung for the Tab S7 Plus was $531. I had zero intention of upgrading. Samsung then offered me more than I paid for the S7+ in trade, for a 16GB/512GB Ultra. They also gave me $200 credit towards accesories. It was kinda of a no-brainer, plus the 4-year OS updates and 5-years of security updates for $517.59. I absolutely love the Ultra, and have no intention of upgrading, especially since Samsung will only give me $650 for the trade-in of my Ultra and the total cost will be $750 for the 16GB/1TB version... Maybe next time, Sammy...
What was the name of the other pen? The Laney EMR? I am familiar with the Staedler models but not the other pen. Have you done a video with it? I've not been very excited about the S Pen included with my S8 Ultra and tried the Wacom stylus which was better but still not great. I'd like to try the Laney but I'm not sure of the exact name and there is no link in the descriptions.
No problem. Just click the trash icon and layer is deleted. Infinite Painter 7 does have some bugs and I have been reporting them to the developers whenever I find them
Teoh,..I have read in various media outlets that it is possible to install and run Adobe Fresco in the DEX Mode of the Samsung Galaxy Tab s9. Can you verify that this is indeed true?
Fresco is not available on Android. And I don't recommend using it even if it does work through some hack because what will happen in the future if it stops working?
Hi, in the Philippines, S9 Ultra 5G with 16GB of RAM and 1TB Storage has FREE Bluetooth Mouse, Book Cover Keyboard, Galaxy Buds2 Pro and 12 months Samsung Care for Php 103,490 or around 1,882 USD.
@@teohontech7141 according to pre-order, S9 Ultra has 512GB and 256GB but those freebies are exclusive only on 1TB. BTW, S9 Ultra is only 5G in the Philippines, unfortunately in the US only has WI-FI.
@@BaSiC47 I just follow what is in the Samsung Shop website which is "Free". The price of the item minus the price of the freebies, around 200USD difference of the US version has 5G.

Hi Teoh! 😊 Interesting these tablets 😮 Do you think that this device would serve for digital illustration even the normal version of the Galaxy Tab S9? If I would like to know if the pressure of the pen is good for pressure strokes or will a traditional digital tablet be necessary 😮... let's say. Will it be a good replacement for the ipad to draw? 😅 The latter is a luxury for me I don't have a laptop 😪 yet but I do draw on my android from my smartphone only the screen is small but it helped me with a traditional digital tablet 😊 Thanks for the video ^^
I could consider the drawing performance on par with the iPad. But you need to get the Lamy EMR or Staedtler Noris Digital for better pressure sensitivity. The 11-inch S9 is as powerful as the Ultra model just with a small screen. It will work better with apps that have minimal UI elements since the screen is smaller.
Hi Theoh, I wanted a tab pure fore serious note taking, i want to relearn all my maths an engineering, so i will do lots of mathematical equations. My concern is smooth writing experience and i write in real life with a fineliner as neat as possible. After lots of video watching i decided pricewice to go for a zenbook laptop for multimedia purpose .. i tried to write with the pen which is my first experience, but i am not totally satisfied with the smoothness and i feel like i am scratching my screen ..i hope i dont damage my oled screen. Since this is my first time writing ..i dont know if this is normal? Pressing on the screen .. other side is i am still considering a tab now maybe a tab is better for note taking ..any advice?
Those folding laptops usually don't provide good experience for writing and drawing. The Samsung tablet has better note taking performance and experience.
I've used a two-in-one laptop for notetaking in college and it was a struggle. I got a Galaxy tab in my last semester and there was no comparison - the tablet is infinitely better for notetaking. You aren't limited to the S Pen for writing, so if you don't like writing with that one you can try out any other EMR stylus. Staedler has a great pencil stylus which feels like writing with a pencil! I use a Wacom One Pen with my Tab S7+ for artwork. Also get a screen protector when writing on your tablet. It may not be 100% necessary for some, but it provides a peace of mind that makes writing a more enjoyable experience.
About drawing a finer line between spen and those other pens you demonstrated, I wonder if you use the spen's hard tip will make any difference. I assume that when you're using the soft tip, there's more resistance, and make you subconsciously press harder. Or, the soft tip will somehow dampen the pressure so it needs to be pushed more.
Thanks for the tip. I just switched to the plastic nib for the S Pen and indeed pressure sensitivity is now much better. I've never used the plastic tip for drawing as I've always preferred the soft one.

i think these new tabs by samsung are a let down price is yet again high and the body width still sucks for a an artist a wider body on the 12.4 inch would be ideal
In Singapore, the price has surprisingly dropped. And they have included wifi-only model to bring the price down even further. Unfortunately for USA, price has increased USD 100
Do you think for architects, this will be better than ipad(if you have knowledge about architects need in tablet)...... I really like to buy samsung tabs, but when i think about programs that available on ipad, it kinda makes me nervous about samsung tabs
Generally speaking, I recommend choosing based on the apps you use. So research the apps first, then see whether those apps are available from the Google Play Store. If you can tell me what kind of work's required by architects, then I can give a better recommendation. If you're just talking about drawing, there are many capable drawing apps available on Android.
@@teohontech7141 thanks for your answer. An app for drawing that have assets like trees, figuers, vehicles and etc. (best app rigjt now with good price tag is pro creat, bus as you know it's not available on android tabs. My biggest doubt for android tabs is procreat.
There are many capable drawing apps on Android so not having Procreate is not really a downside. There are Clip Studio Paint, Krita, Sketchbook, Medibang Paint, Infinite Painter. For apps with assets, it would be Medibang, CSP. You can also check out Concepts app which has all those assets you mentioned. Concepts is available on iPad, Android and Windows.
@@teohontech7141 Thanks bro!
Thanks.
It's a camera on tripod standing in front of the tablet. To get true overhead shots you need a horizontal tripod arm.
Hello, I have a problem, I bought this Tablet, when I look directly at the tablet, the color is white, but when you look at an angle, a pink tint is visible on the screen, tell me whether this is a factory defect, or if it should be like this. Thank you
That's normal
Question, when I am using the Mediabang and Clip art apps for drawing. I put the maximum correction option for a smoother drawing but it's not working on Samsung Galaxy tab S8 or S9. May I ask why?
What do you meant by not working? Medibang smoothness is a number. CSP smoothness/stablisation is step bases
Not with the S Pen, but possible with Lamy EMR and Staedtler Noris Digital (thin one)
Drawing performance is same. Differences are on the features. See this video I made recently. th-cam.com/video/lZI9gB3siNs/w-d-xo.html
You can enable Samsung One UI to run at 120Hz. But not all apps run at 120Hz.
Thank you for your hard work on making this video. I have a question about the spen tips... are they the same ones that come with the s23 ultra Spen?
They are same
@@teohontech7141 thank you!
Just a heads up that Lululook have now upgraded their magnetic stand specifically for tab S9 Ultra
Thanks for the info! They are fast
Nice review. I would like to ask what would be a good or even the besr alternative to the samsung S9 ultra's s pen? My s pen nib got stuck inside. Thank you
Wacom One. www.parkablogs.com/content/wacom-one-pen-vs-other-emr-pens-artist-review
But it's the Samsung S Pen that can attach magnetically to the side of the tablet.
@@lorenztribucio20200 I'm not using a screen protector. G;ass screen protectors may affect pen performance due to the extra thicker glass

I have not tried that Kindle pen so I can’t say much
@@teohontech7141 ah no worries, thanks for responding.
That Morefine M9 should be fine driving monitor resolution up to 1440P.
Hi what good drawing apps that you recommend thanks
Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Infinite Painter, Concepts, Sketchbook, Medibang
@@teohontech7141 okay thanks alot, how about ibis paint x ? Also do you know any good apps for animation like procreate thanks a lot
I don't use Ibis Paint X so I can't say much. And I'm not familiar with animation software on Android. Clip Studio Paint has features for animation
@@teohontech7141 ah i see, so is it okay if i used only the samsung screen protector and not tempered glass ?
I am a university student studying data science and machine learning. I am looking to buy a new tablet and am undecided between the S9 Ultra and the S9 Plus. I will use the tablet for meetings, note taking, studying, writing, and storing files. I will be using the tablet for long periods of time. Which tablet would you ultimately recommend?
Plus is good enough. Ultra is for people who often use SamsungDex on tablet screen, split screen multi-tasking, apps with many UI elements that take up space, and external wireless display
Have you done a video on the best drawing apps to use? Specifically for dress design/drawing.

Samsung Dex is actually based on Linux’s Gentoo OS and a combination of both Linux’s KDE & Gnome desktop environment.
I personally can't see PWM so I can't say much. You will have to see the tablets in person to check if you can see PWM flicker
It is worth it. Nowadays tablets are really powerful and can last a long time.
Hello, this tablet supports Adobe programs ( after effect, illustrator , photoshop) ?
No
Hi, what about the oleophobic coating? Does it even exist on the s9 ultra? How good is it?
Seems okay to me. 👍

Make sure the screen is set on 120Hz, it greatly reduces the latency
But not all drawing apps will run at 120hz
Are you going to buy the S pen creator edition? It has enhanced tilt and pressure detection, with better weight distribution.
I will likely buy that for testing although I can't see how it will be better than the Lamy EMR pen.
Hey Teoh did you have any issues with infinite painter deleting layers on Android? I want to know if it's a good replacement for procreate.
No problem. Just click the trash icon and layer is deleted. Infinite Painter 7 does have some bugs and I have been reporting them to the developers whenever I find them
Is it worth upgrade from s8 ultra?
Zagg screen protectors don't cause any issues with the S pen.
Wow. That 1TB is the higest tier model and is expensive. Are there no lower tier models?
@@teohontech7141 according to pre-order, S9 Ultra has 512GB and 256GB but those freebies are exclusive only on 1TB. BTW, S9 Ultra is only 5G in the Philippines, unfortunately in the US only has WI-FI.
Nothing is „FREE“ it is included in 1882$
@@BaSiC47 I just follow what is in the Samsung Shop website which is "Free". The price of the item minus the price of the freebies, around 200USD difference of the US version has 5G.
In Germany you get the slim keyboard for free with a code and upgrade to the next size up is free. If you don't have a trade in device, you get an extra 50€ off. Samsung Care is reduced a little in price, too
Also we have 5g as an option for all models
The pre-order in Germany is much worse than in Austria. In Austria you get the real cover keyboard and 10% instead of 5%.
Anyone know why they don't launch the 5g version?
Hi Teoh! 😊
Interesting these tablets 😮
Do you think that this device would serve for digital illustration even the normal version of the Galaxy Tab S9?
If I would like to know if the pressure of the pen is good for pressure strokes or will a traditional digital tablet be necessary 😮... let's say.
Will it be a good replacement for the ipad to draw? 😅
The latter is a luxury for me
I don't have a laptop 😪 yet but I do draw on my android from my smartphone only the screen is small but it helped me with a traditional digital tablet 😊
Thanks for the video ^^
I could consider the drawing performance on par with the iPad. But you need to get the Lamy EMR or Staedtler Noris Digital for better pressure sensitivity.
The 11-inch S9 is as powerful as the Ultra model just with a small screen. It will work better with apps that have minimal UI elements since the screen is smaller.

Hi Theoh,
I wanted a tab pure fore serious note taking, i want to relearn all my maths an engineering, so i will do lots of mathematical equations.
