Someone with HIV spat in my face once, they bit the inside of their cheek so it bled and spat a mouthful of blood/spit straight in my face when I was transporting them to custody. I had to take anti viral medication for 3 months and multiple HIV tests. Basically had diarrhoea for 3 months. After that I started using the hoods.

This happened to my uncle on a fateful night in Tennessee. He got too drunk, got lost, and then tried to get into a fight with the people who found him. The park ranger found us after he got called to get him untaped and dealt with. Shit was hilarious, but totally effective

THIS IS CRAZY! I was at the bar with this lady for 30 minutes while waiting to board our flight from Dallas/Fort Worth to Charlotte. (I actually have her damn e-mail address because she wanted to buy some of my art, ha!) She was really nice, albeit a bit odd, but nothing like what it turned into later! The story is that she allegedly suffers from schizophrenia and the meds interacted with the two glasses or more of Jack Daniels she was drinking at the bar. I saw her inebriated and being helped on the plane when we finally boarded the flight, which was delayed for about 3 hours. During mid-flight she flipped out and kept saying "she needed to save the kids!" and tried to open the main exit door at the front of the plane. She attacked the flight attendants who tried to help her, and was SCREAMING at the top of her lungs (just feral screaming and crying!) when restrained in the plane lavatory. IT WAS NUTS. IT IS EQUALLY NUTS TO SEE THIS ON JRE!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL?! LOL EDIT: Look in the replies for my links to proof...

Plane doors are actually bigger than the opening and fitted like a wedge from inside. So they must open inward (impossible while the plane is pressurised) first then do a weird twist maneuver to then go out through the opening which they are bigger than. Look closely next time you are settled near the doors and they are being opened or closed. It's very cool and ingenious system. I'm a Former Aerospace engineer.

2 True stories from my days working for a commuter airline. 1st - Turbo Prop lost a wiper blade it went into the prop on Capt side of aircraft the prop shot it thru the cabin and into a passengers leg. No decompression, the passenger sat there quietly and the flight attendant said he just asked for a towel for the blood, they left it in his leg until it could land. 2nd. Maintenance was working on an Jet aircraft and had pressurized the cabin without notifying ground personnel. Because the aircraft was on the ground in not in flight mode a caterer was able to open the service door from the outside. The door exploded open blew off the aircraft and knocked the caterer 20 feet back and off his truck platform, he was lucky to live.

I still remember, from Boxing Day 2009, the sound a body hitting the floor. It's not something you forget. We had our balcony door open and heard a massive slapping noise that sounded like a cross between a belly flop and a whip crack. Like someone had slapped their hands right next to your ear. Guy had jumped from the top floor of the flats opposite, it was so loud considering how far, about 200 metres away, it was. Took me a few years to not think of that moment, whenever I heard a similar sound.

Aircraft doors open inward before folding out to their 'welcome' position. This is so that when the aircraft is pressurized, the entire pressurization of the aircraft is participating in holding them closed. So while it isn't physically impossible, it would require overcoming the pressurization which is beyond the strength of a single human being.

I remember that flight... I was 4 years old. I used to go to the field outside the airport with my dad as a kid, we used to lay on the hood of the truck and yell as the airplanes flew over us. That flight came in (I can't remember if it was a Hawaiian Airlines or Aloha AIrlines) and pops stopped in mid scream. It was pretty wild. The airfield was filled with emergency vehicles, and a cop came by and asked us to leave... crazy. Depressurization blew the canopy.
Thankfully most modern airliners have doors that open inwards and therefore seal up against the fuselage when closed. This is so the air pressure inside the plane keeps the doors sealed up hard and reduces the chance of it bursting open causing chaos in the event of a latch failure etc. So when a lunatic decides to open it, unless they're a gorilla, they won't have the strength to actually pull it open. I'd say this has potentially saved countless lives as society seems to be plummeting into psychosis everywhere you look.

You can't actually open the doors when the plane is flying. There is a lock that engages when the plane starts moving past a retain speed, so even if she was pulling on the handle it wouldn't do anything.
The people on that flight weren't wearing seat belts and some of them were up and walking about and it just wasn't the door that got ripped off it was like 30 ft of fuselage which resulted in rapid decompression
A friend of mine was dead scared to fly and ended up with duct tape, when he started screaming "We are all gonna die!" and demanded a parachute on a transatlantic flight. He was charged for it when he arrived in the US; flying from London. If a person goes bonkers on a plane like that, its not his own fault.

Duct-taping someone's mouth isn't okay. They could suffocate if their nose becomes congested, or if they vomit they could choke to death onl it. Especially considering these sorts of unruly passengers are likely drunk, plus there's the additional factor of airsickness.
The doors of commercial passenger aircraft open inwards and the cabin is pressurized. Even if they could get the door unlocked which can't happen due to fail safe that have to do with switches that are activated and deactivated by the weight of the aircraft on the wheels, the pressure in the cabin would prevent somebody from being able to open the door. Physically almost impossible even for someone who is super strong! It's kind of like trying to open a car door when the car is submerged underwater and there's air inside the car. The door won't open until the car fills with water and the pressure on each side of the door equalizes. You might as well be pushing on a brick wall at that point!
One time when I was a kid we lured a bully down to the local bike track in the woods shrink wrapped his ass to a tree fed him exlax chocolate bars and left him there for probably 8 hours. Cruel yes but he never fucked with any of us again. He never even spoke to us. I hope he s not permanently damaged now that I think about it.

2 True stories from my days working for a commuter airline. 1st - Turbo Prop lost a wiper blade it went into the prop on Capt side of aircraft the prop shot it thru the cabin and into a passengers leg. No decompression, the passenger sat there quietly and the flight attendant said he just asked for a towel for the blood, they left it in his leg until it could land.
2nd. Maintenance was working on an Jet aircraft and had pressurized the cabin without notifying ground personnel. Because the aircraft was on the ground in not in flight mode a caterer was able to open the service door from the outside. The door exploded open blew off the aircraft and knocked the caterer 20 feet back and off his truck platform, he was lucky to live.

I still remember, from Boxing Day 2009, the sound a body hitting the floor. It's not something you forget. We had our balcony door open and heard a massive slapping noise that sounded like a cross between a belly flop and a whip crack. Like someone had slapped their hands right next to your ear. Guy had jumped from the top floor of the flats opposite, it was so loud considering how far, about 200 metres away, it was. Took me a few years to not think of that moment, whenever I heard a similar sound.

Aircraft doors open inward before folding out to their 'welcome' position. This is so that when the aircraft is pressurized, the entire pressurization of the aircraft is participating in holding them closed. So while it isn't physically impossible, it would require overcoming the pressurization which is beyond the strength of a single human being.

I remember that flight... I was 4 years old. I used to go to the field outside the airport with my dad as a kid, we used to lay on the hood of the truck and yell as the airplanes flew over us. That flight came in (I can't remember if it was a Hawaiian Airlines or Aloha AIrlines) and pops stopped in mid scream. It was pretty wild. The airfield was filled with emergency vehicles, and a cop came by and asked us to leave... crazy. Depressurization blew the canopy.

Thankfully most modern airliners have doors that open inwards and therefore seal up against the fuselage when closed. This is so the air pressure inside the plane keeps the doors sealed up hard and reduces the chance of it bursting open causing chaos in the event of a latch failure etc. So when a lunatic decides to open it, unless they're a gorilla, they won't have the strength to actually pull it open. I'd say this has potentially saved countless lives as society seems to be plummeting into psychosis everywhere you look.
A gorilla couldn't open it, either. Not unless the cabin was depressurized. And if THAT was the case... trust me... you'd be aware waaaaay before anyone could open the door. 😳

You can't actually open the doors when the plane is flying. There is a lock that engages when the plane starts moving past a retain speed, so even if she was pulling on the handle it wouldn't do anything.

The people on that flight weren't wearing seat belts and some of them were up and walking about and it just wasn't the door that got ripped off it was like 30 ft of fuselage which resulted in rapid decompression

He was charged for it when he arrived in the US; flying from London. If a person goes bonkers on a plane like that, its not his own fault.

Duct-taping someone's mouth isn't okay. They could suffocate if their nose becomes congested, or if they vomit they could choke to death onl it. Especially considering these sorts of unruly passengers are likely drunk, plus there's the additional factor of airsickness.
The doors of commercial passenger aircraft open inwards and the cabin is pressurized. Even if they could get the door unlocked which can't happen due to fail safe that have to do with switches that are activated and deactivated by the weight of the aircraft on the wheels, the pressure in the cabin would prevent somebody from being able to open the door. Physically almost impossible even for someone who is super strong! It's kind of like trying to open a car door when the car is submerged underwater and there's air inside the car. The door won't open until the car fills with water and the pressure on each side of the door equalizes. You might as well be pushing on a brick wall at that point!
