As someone who uses a rigid manual wheelchair, I may need an UberWAV paratransit vehicle eventhough I am able to transfer into most cars. I am worried that the driver may not know the proper way to handle my 'chair -- putting it in the car, and assembling it again upon arriving at the destination.
sorry to hear it took you so long Joe. Being a quad and in a electric chair I know how hard it is. Which is why I am on here trying to figure out how long it will take me to get from the hotel to the airport months before I need to go. I hope you got the guys phone number as I always get a accessible taxi cabs phone number… I'm trying to find a phone number so I can find some contacts at DFW airport
Lyft deactivated my account because I refused to accept a lady in a wheelchair and a dog . Lyft knows that my car isn’t a wheelchair accessible vehicle and they still send me to pick her up . I drove a small SUV that don’t have a ramp . The lady on a wheelchair was recording before I even showed up and accused me of discrimination. Lyft offered to pay drivers $15 extra if they can accept people with disabilities and a dog but I never signed up for that
My wife is disabled but they don't even offer these kind of accessible Uber rides. Considering getting a wheelchair accessible van so I can try to change that

I will stick to paratransit and taxi services thank you

I just noticed this issue. Uber has done nothing. If I have known this was an issue I would have got a van to do this.

Uber wav is a nightmare ! Non emergency medical transport is the best for wheelchair transportation👍
No You can only go to doctors appointments and then it takes them an hour to get you home sometimes depending on the company they sent to you
@@tyleraguilar1 not true. They will take you anywhere. And the wait if any is not as bad as Uber . Trust me
