I loved all of the books (read them all) and I bought the complete collection of the original BBC TV series. I took my wife to visit Thirsk and the Dales (all the way from Kentucky). I don't think she ever understood why I loved the stories so much. She passed away five years ago, so she didn't get to see the new series (which I love even more than the first). We had many dogs and cats during our time together, and my wife often asked why the animals seem to love me more than her. My reply was because they can feel my love for them.
I have to agree with you, I have the books and liked the first series, however .Thanks to Covid and UK Health and Safety the 2nd series had to show less interaction with the animals and so focused on the relationship with each of the characters. I love Mrs Hall. Thankyou for your comment. The Museum is wonderful, I wish I had made a better effort now.
Watching this short video reminds me so much of my growing up years as my father was the local country vet in rural northern New Hampshire (USA). My father's veterinary practice was part of the house we all lived in, very similar to this video. Brings back such great memories!!
Loved that, thanks for uploading it. The French windows leading to a long narrow stretch of garden, which is described in the Herriot books, is how I imagined it. Couldn't believe how big it was inside. Great!

The new series is amazing. We liked the museum very much.
