    Hello I,m Alexander from Barcelona.
I am finishing THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY. Barcelona and Sitges are real cities in Catalonia and obviously It is an honour MICHAEL HAIG writing about them... INTERNATIONAL FANTASTIC FILM FESTIVAL is held in Sitges ....
I have been in NY and i have been visiting the NY public library.
Thank you for your review ! 🍀🤗

I read the book and really loved it. English is not my first language but the writing was easy to follow. I would love to read more books with the same difficulty. If you can recommend some I would appreciate it. Good review by the way.

Thanks so much Ayat, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Some of my favorite books that I read this year are Such a Fun Age and In Five Years. Both have a similar difficulty to The Midnight Library.

I really enjoyed the book, but I think it was a little different for me. I lost my sister to suicide, so some of the notes of the book hit a little harder. Excited learning that it’s being made it to a movie.

It’s a really heavy book, but has many important messages in it. I appreciate you being here and sharing your experience of the book with me. I actually didn’t know it was turning into a movie, that should be an interesting one to see.

@@readwithtalia You’re welcome! Thanks for the great review! Yea, Matt Haig announced it on his Twitter September 22nd. It’s going to be made by the same studio that made “Paddington,” and those movies are amazing. Definitely in good hands.

I'll just say it one more time and then I'll leave it alone, but if you like these kinds of concepts I really think you would enjoy Jordan Peterson's lecture series Maps of Meaning. His 2017 series is probably the best starting point. The reason I suggest it is because it's basically a course on learning about exactly these kinds of concepts and how they apply, and he also does a lot of explanation through a literary lens. I.E. The idea of wishing on a star, or going into the belly of the whale from Pinocchio. He shows how a concept like that arises from history, and manifests itself in our modern lives, and why they might be important to think about or what we can take away from it. It's really interesting to listen to because it opens doors to understanding some of the stories that we as humans have been telling ourselves the longest. Actually JBP is also the reason I'm writing this right now. I'm just trying to do the "maximal good" that I can do in the world following his principles. Lastly I'll just say from my own experience, I saw one of my idols just yesterday lamenting that he's basically gotten everything he wanted in life... and now he has no idea what to do next, because up till now his path has been pretty much laid out for him. Which he is struggling with this late in life...But I think it is Great!... he's going to have to learn to enjoy all new experiences going forward, and that will be quite the journey for him! But it also made me thankful, that I didn't get what I wanted out of life... Because it's made me more determined to carve it out for myself anyways, and to really enjoy and appreciate the journey of getting there. Now I realize that I don't actually EVER want to get there! I'd rather just keep going on the Journey! Just food for thought. If you don't want me to reply on any more of your vids I can see myself out. I was just trying to help. The world doesn't have enough of that right now, was just trying to do my part. Sorry if I offended in any way.
