The enfield was left behind because it did the same damage as the aug and famas but had a much lower fire rate. It was just under powered comparatively.
One thing I do know about the Enfield that I think others don't realized is that it has a very unique ACOG Scope. It's not a very good one in my opinion, but it's much different from the other ACOGs for the Assault Rifles.

Mike Hunt the em2 rifle is a gas operated flapper locked system like a RPD lsw which is of a complete different design to the xl60 which is in the game which is a gas operated rotating bolt like an AR18 that over 15years of development eventually became the l85 via the xl70 . They are related to each other in British bullpup rifle development over time and ballistic development both were to use a British intermediate round that had to be cancelled due to stupidity
The thing about the Enfield, when you look at the stats, while it is very similar to the other assault rifles that ends up being it's downfall. I loved it a lot myself (i just think the L85 series of rifles is very cool looking) but when stuff like the Commando existed, or you had the option to throw a grip on an AK74u and get similar results with better handling; even the Famas which was the most comparable to it edged it out in enough situations that it was more preferred. I sense a pattern in CoD games where you're rewarded a lot for going hard with a single strategy, very rarely will "jack of all trade" weapons really find a chance to shine, unless that gun is distinctly above the average in one or multiple of those areas... but then that's when you end up with guns like the M4A1 in the new Modern Warfare that, even after several nerfs, is still so reliable of a gun you always feel like you're gimping yourself when it's not included in your class.
I really get that comment about the sound of a gun being a factor for why people pick it up, the Galil sounds like someone jangling keys at the speed of sound and all the babies love it

I have a buddy who won't use weapons he dislikes the look of (whether or not it's a good weapon) He also tends to lean towards slightly odd looking weapons and dislikes a weapon based on it's sound. He's solid but he's got weird ways of determining what weapons he likes or doesn't like sound included.

The Enfield was my favourite gun in the Multiplayer. And I'll never forget that one mission in the Campaign, where you get given the thermal Enfield and it was *F U C K I N G I M P O S S I B L E* to see anything out of it.

Not sure if anyone has said it before but the Enfield (British Army SA80 A1 or A2) take a 5.56mm bullet, the FAL is 7.62mm. Assume when they made the video they duplicated the sounds. I have fired both and they sound totally different 👍

For the Enfield I don't think it's the sound just because all the guns in Black ops one sound pretty much the same. In my opinion it's probably just because it was a standard rifle in a game full of extreme ends of the spectrum of op. And I have to disagree with the fal pick. I can't get in a lobby without someone running that with an acog
Black Ops 1 is my all time favourite Cod literally always go back and play for a few hours every weekend. Find the new Cods quite stale when i play them sadly
I don't understand why people didn't give the M14 much love in this game. I get it that the FAL is a better option between semi-auto rifles, but I loved using the M14. I loved rocking the iron sights and grip. It was my primary weapon till I unlocked my AK47.

I thought the A2 was only improved with a charging handle, whereas by the time the A3 was perfected by H&K I.e. quad rail system, foregrip, charging handle aswell as internal mods, it was like an entirely new model even though the army slowly recalled all rifles to improve them
@@professional_cynic98 the a3 has only been rolled out incredibly recently and im not entirely sure on specifics but the a1 was badly known for its jams and reliability issues akin to the m16 during Vietnam. This was a massive problem so the a2 was improved by hk with improved internals and fixes to reliablity and jams along with things like the charging handle as you said. The a2 is a pretty decent rifle now compared to the tragic a1

I used the enfield/ L85A1 quite a lot but it just annoyed me that the iron sights and mag release are wrong, it is only a minor thing but it still annoys me 😂

I love the FN FAL and it saddens me to see the Right Arm of the Free World being a rarity in Black Ops. Battle Rifles are my go to weapons.
