Hi Julie …. Regarding hand tearing watercolor for a deckled edge. Try a bread knife. I was getting frustrated hand tearing and I tried this. 🤗
The lady's face painting in the right background (behind you) is gorgeous -- her eyes are striking. This is a fun way to learn to create. Thanks for sharing.

This is really fun to do. I make my own watercolor Christmas cards every year, both for my own sending, but also that go to a gallery for sale. I have been using lately the Shizen handmade rough paper and apply them to CJ Goof Proof Cards. It gives a wonderful effect. I back tape 4 cards at a time to a support, and have two or three supports going and really do an assembly line. While one is drying, the others are wet with another layer. Last year I did 75 cards. They have all either been sent or sold. I really like doing them..

Perfect idea for using up off-cuts of watercolour paper. I just followed along and made some! Mine aren't quite so impressive as yours, but they're OKish so I've made them into greeting cards. Thanks for the tutorial.

Just discovered you yesterday. Love live love. I've known Joe Miller since the 60s. Pharmacy era. Born in Boone 1950, hospital it was then. I guess a dorm now. Daughter to the Tate's. Love Joe's watercolors. Love these what I call lessons. Julie hour the best. I will probably sleep very little since I found you. I do some novice watercolors and what I call Whimsey Art... Doodling as well. 2 minutes may turn into hrs.
