I have a DBAL-A3 and I do not currently have night vision capability. It is a future purchase, definitely, but I could not say no to 25% off the price of IR/laser.
So I may have missed it, but there’s something he didn’t mention. The A3 illuminator is also an IR laser, but it’s “defocused” to spread the beam like a flashlight. The D2 uses an IR LED for illumination. It should provide better flood at closer distances. But the downside of IR LEDs is that they emit a red glow visible to the naked eye. An IR laser does not. Also, the D2 is about 4oz. heavier, as I recall. A3 is 8oz., D2 is 12.
It’s a common misconception that near-infrared laser illuminators do not have an apparent glow with they are fired. Of course they do. The LED will just have a larger point source of red visible leaking light. The laser illuminator will have a smaller point source of light, which could mean a shorter time to being noticed. It is worth noting that the D2’s illuminator is 857x more powerful that the fda-limited laser illuminator on the a3.
@@asomeguy3000 I’ll have to look more closely at my illuminator next time I’m out with it. Hadn’t really considered that the size of the emitter made a difference. My IR LED is fairly obvious to the naked eye, but it’s also about 1” in diameter. I understand wavelength plays a part in it, too, but I’ve only tried the one LED. Thanks!
Although, nothing is wrong with that, I cracked up at the "LARPING" options on whatever you'll be doing. It's hilarious. LoL Great video as I would be getting one myself!!
Let’s face it, most of us are LARPing. At least I hope so. All my guns shoot paper except for my $175 shotgun which I use for coyote control at the farm and my .22-250 which has glass that is worth twice as much as the gun for daylight coyote control, (four and counting so almost $400 a dog for that piece of gear with optics 🤣).

Shame it seems like Steiner is pulling out of the laser market all-together. The 9007 actually seemed alright, and the D2 is okay, but I imagine its only a matter of time before they can those too.
For anyone confused by this, Steiner has essentially discontinued nearly all their civilian laser units. I believe last I looked they still make the OTAL-C, DBAL-D2, and DBAL-A3.
Wait a minute, you mean all the civilian DBALs with the low power “FDA” approved for civilian low power………have a screw I can remove to get high power? Or are you showing us the military/LE only versions? Thanks for any info.
Civ lasers still have low and high power modes, however the high power mode is still civ class and “eye safe”. The screw is more or less redundant on civ lasers.

The common use for these aiming lasers is whilst wearing a night vision device. If you have a night vision scope you can aim through the scope. Seems to me most of the night time hunters use thermal scopes, but I'm not a night time hunter, so ...
Isn't the Perst 3 no longer available due to sanctions imposed on the countey of origin due to the leader's... you know... the thing with his neighbor?
I just wish they didn't cost an eye. If they were around the 800 to 1200 I probably would get one but the price right now is equivalent to an eye. I rather keep my eye.
I think you should have mentioned that we can’t buy these in the normal power settings you are showing us, we can only buy the low power civilian versions.
Brownells should spend less time making videos and more time answering customer service calls I am currently caller 109 in a long line of people waiting for customer service tried the live chat and no one is available. Definitely would not recommend you guys based on today
Steiner's civilian Quality Control department should be named Holosun's salesman of the year

Thanks for pointing that out!
idk why I watch this stuff honestly. I have 2 DBALs and ATPIAL but I guess I just love hearing peoples take on the products I use XD

I ordered mine from Afghanistan for $45 and a manual for the M4.
Lmao... ISIS got a bulk deal from the US Government with our tax dollars. #FJB
Where do i buy em from?? i need one..
cheap haha
If I was the one promoting these products I will show the customer how they are used in real time so they could have a better sense of the product.
THANKS
It would have been nice if you can show the laser on so we can see how bright it gets but nice job
The lasers are for use with nv tho
Can you do a video on the mawl ?
Only have to donate 1 kidney for the A3, you need to donate both for the D2.
Good stuff!
You should do one on the PEQ-15 as well

Question, should one use this with night vision or IR scope ? The money for the which way to go is costly. I seen the TX hog hunters use IR scope.
