Take a look at the Holosun Thermal/Night Vision Red Dots, in my opinion if they actually work as advertised I wouldn't be surprised if they become really popular within the LE/urban operations world.

Am not LE/Mil, just a casual gun owner who wishes to Gucci out his gun. This looks absolutely fantastic, and would definitely go well with an EOTech optic. I've heard they're releasing a civilian model soon, and will be patiently awaiting for it's release.
This is amazing! It weighs the same as a PEQ-15 or DBAL A3 and costs twice as much! Another way to see it is it's twice as heavy as an NGAL for only 75% the cost! $3000 is a bargain for a half pound laser aiming module because it has such cool external sculpturing and the Eotech logo!
Imagine dropping 2 grand when you can buy a somotech airsoft OGL for less than $100 that does the exact same thing, and its lasers aren't limited by FDA regulations. Intended for airsoft use but plenty of people have tested them on real firearms and they hold up just fine since all the internals are fixed in place in the housing by epoxy.
This looks fantastic. I'd love to see a civilian version of it. The civilian market options are all pretty bad save for the MAWL C1+ and it's simply too expensive. The DBAL D2 is a great performer but Steiner's QC is inconsistent and the D2 is heavy as hell.
My thoughts exactly. They're making a civi version too. I'm saving my pennies for this, for sure. I can't think of any way to make it better, save if they could have gotten it even smaller and lighter.

They really need to go with LED for the civilian unit. So far, Steiner and BE Meyers are the only ones to do that. More and more people are getting into night vision so I think it might be worth it to have something with EOTech's quality versus all the compromises we have now.

For everyone irrationally complaining about the $2199 price tag do realize it’s for the FP (full power) model. Even if the civilian model is $2k or so it’s still a better price (same vscel tech) than the B.E. Myers mawl c1+ that sits pretty steep at $3.6k and the other LAD’s on the market that are around $4-$4.5k or higher.
Potted Somo gear and Laserspeed and Steiner on my guns. I have 3 guns lazed 2 full power for the price of that thing. Maybe only the Steiner is go to war out of the three as far as durability. Passive aiming is probably the way to go. Spraying your IR all over the place was great in the first gulf war and the 2003 invasion because we ruled the night. We even said we rule the night. In today’s world unless you are running SWIR you better be passive aiming because the guys opposing you are wearing nods too.
I already run a MAWL on my GPR, but I will probably grab one of these as well for my other rifle I have. I know people are kinda bitching about the price, but I think $2k is a fair price 🤷♂️ catch a Black Friday sale, especially since these are coming Q4 to the civilian market, you might be able to grab it for $1700 🙂

This is a VCSEL device. It's leaps and bounds better than a full power PEQ15. It's also as much, if not cheaper, than the older model PEQ15. A gray market PEQ15 with a recent manufacturer date in new/like-new condition will run $2,000+. With that $2,000, you get an illuminator with artifacts in the beam pattern and an illuminator adjustment that's a pain in the ass to use. Oh, and no warranty, either. PEQ-15 is like 2 generations older technology. The aiming lasers are basically the same but PEQs have terrible illuminators that provide very uneven, dirty light. Newer high-end LAMs use VCSEL laser diodes which are hella bright and provide very clean, even illumination in a very small package.
Not sure OGL is a good acronym to use at the moment. Wizards of the Coast and the OGL 1.0a have been in the news recently. From the title, I thought EOTECH was joining the TTRPG world.

I use a Holosun IR laser on my rifle home defense rifle. It works fine and uses a AA battery, cheaper in the long run.

I don't know much about these things, but what's the difference between this and all the other PEQ 15 style lasers?
PEQ-15 is like 2 generations older technology. The aiming lasers are basically the same but PEQs have terrible illuminators that provide very uneven, dirty light. Newer high-end LAMs use VCSEL laser diodes which are hella bright and provide very clean, even illumination in a very small package.
