But American police are notorious for continuing to escalate situations that didn’t have to be. When she said to the cop that she would sign the paper after he threatened arrest, he should have taken that as an opportunity to de-escalate without having to use unnecessary methods. The old woman was a stubborn fool. But the cop took it too far. Police should expect to deal with idiots (we all know it is far too common in the USA because so many people here are entitled and selfish) and thus they should not further escalate situations when they are already being escalated.

And the reason American police, or just America in general gets so much media coverage is because ever since WW2 it has solidified itself as one of the superpowers of the world. When there is injustice occurring in America, it is shown everywhere, because the USA impacts the entire world. The world (or most of it, our allies at the very least) wants America to be just and good, so when there are examples showing that we aren’t, it concerns the whole planet. Mexico? The police there can do stuff like what you mentioned, it doesn’t concern the world as much because Mexico is not a superpower nation. The USA is under a constant spotlight. That’s just as much a curse as it is a blessing.

We have people here who follow cops around cursing at them to try to get a rise out of them, hoping for a payday. We have a ton of issues here. Watch critikal’s recent video about the cop responding. to a call then being harassed and called names for 30+ minutes while he is just trying to do his job. Watch the video of the cop being brutally beat up by a violent criminal he is trying to apprehend at a mall while he pleads for help from bystanders who record him and laugh at him, taunting him. People are sctivelly looking for ways to ambush officers with fake calls. A cops throat was slit responding to a fake domestic violence call. An officer in my area was shot and killed responding to a domestic call while the guy choked an 8 year old almost to death? This is America right now. You support cops doing their job and you’re a bootlicker
