Just know that this video is very motivating!! After reading about 2 pages a month for like 2 months, ive finally read like 15 pages consecutively n i really hope i keep pushing myself and read more regularly
i know you said not to, but 1. i didn't notice the lampshade until you mentioned it and 2. seeing it zoomed me all the way back to GCSEs in school and i spent a full 6 hours drawing a lamp and erased it and started again SO MANY TIMES because it was always crooked like that 😭 still got an A though so, worth 😎
I’m so glad you mentioned the switch up with the behavior and dynamic when it comes to sexual stuff and Elsie Silver’s MMC’s bc I stopped reading her stuff after reading 3-4 books because that whole sexually demanding and demeaning / dom thing is not for me at alllll. Men are horrible enough irl. I want cinnamon rolls, in and out of the bedroom, and she doesn’t seem to get that a man can be dominant without being objectifying and gross. Maybe she’s into that but if so, she’s just rewriting the exact same dude and having EVERY single MMC behave the exact same way sexually is just lazy. Try a new recipe ffs 🤦🏽♀️. I finally just gave up because she’s just rewriting the same characters in nearly the same dynamic and nearly the same storyline every time and it isn’t worth repeating when she’s not a great writer on a basic skill level and the men all give me the ick as soon as it turns sexual. Totally agree about Happy Place too. That book lives rent free in my head. Although Book Lovers remains my fav of her books. One of the only books that has ever made me laugh out loud multiple times and still made me swoon at the romance- and the whole “villainized workaholic woman who gets left for the small town girl in every romance story” being the MC was just so unique imo
