At 2:06 I would already be at the bar drinking a beer to forget about the lamp and then a second beer to come up with an idea for another video.
Instead I would have used your wife's baking pan to make focaccia to eat with the beer.
I admire the determination and patience with which you dedicate yourself to such complicated projects. Bravo.

Amazing work buddy. I definitely would have chucked that in the bin and gone to the pub. The restoration of the corroded parts is unbelievable. Most of us would have purchased another lamp and scavenged it for parts.
Contrary to some of the comments, I believe a rebuild is a restoration as you are restoring the piece to its former glory. Homes are rebuilt and called restored, art work is restored with modern paint to make it look like it was. Cars are restored using donor parts and no one questions it. Yet here any time anyone uses a new part or makes one, others lose their mind.
Anyway, glad to see your laser is earning its keep. I’m sure the hydraulic press will do so too.

Thank you so much for those kind words. At one point I was going to just buy a new torch and put the old globe in it from rusty one and call it restored just for shits and giggles. Can't remember if you seen my post from last week about the Axe. How much can be replaced before it's a different item is the big question that's why I tried to keep as much of the original metal. Next time please just stop me and say come on mate just let it go, we are heading to the Pub.
