Thanks for tuning in guys 👍 it's been a while I'm sorry. I have been busy insulating my work shop so I can survive this heat. Hopefully soon I might get back to something more regular.
I am from Brisbane but am living in Ningbo china. I have a Japanese sword, rusty that was found on the beach in Berlin. Would you be interested in restoring it? Let me know and next time i am back in Australia i will bring it.
@@wholefoodplantbasedmama5398 this would be a very interesting project but it's not something I know much about sorry. I suggest looking for someone that specialises in this sort of work. All the best
*_What an amazing video! I have never seen anything like it. I can't imagine how much time went into restoring it, let alone your skill and talent. Bravo!_*
Thanks very much. I can tell you, way too much time was spent on this one. Especially trying to find the time when I wasn't melting in the heat of the workshop. Thanks for tuning in 👍👍👍
I think you deliberately restore things that are pizza tray shaped .... Not sure about the cows... New neighbours ? always amazed how many parts there are when you show everything broken down .wish I could restore to this level of finish , genuinely enjoy every moment of your videos . Way better than those other channels that fake their items start condition . With you we get genuine resto / fix/ mend/ restore . Thanks for your honest restorations . Shell grit and super glue us for guitars ... Or is that noodles ? Need some magic bending gloves like yours . Love the green .... Wow what a transformation !!!!!
Thanks very much for all those very kind words Mr toolrestoration. I would have replaced the bottom but I'm out of pizza trays. Would have been far too tricky to bend all those shapes. Yes neighbour moved his cows while there was construction work happening. Sand and super glue, classic useless hack. Really glad to hear you enjoyed it. Those gloves are magic, that's how I get so much done lol. No fake restorations on this channel 👍
Really appreciate the time spent on the editing of this video. Very entertaining. The restore job was excellent as usual and the result speaks for itself.
Good afternoon my friend. You did a great job of restoration and breathed a second life into this product. I liked it very much. 👌👌👌😉👍👍👍 Good luck to you in your new projects.
Oh mate, I saw all those holes and thought to myself. If it was me I would just give up. Again you showed us how talented you are. You made all that soldering look easy. That stove looks absolutely gorgeous. Well done 👍👌👏
You need an old style soldering iron that you heat up in a fire. Lot easier to solder sheet metal. I use them to solder drain pans. If you can't find one let me know, I have several of them.
A really professional result mate. Your skills are awesome. You make all that soldering look easy; and I am fully aware it is not. Great work and another antique saved from the scrap heap.
Thanks very much Shedman. The soldering was a horrible job to do. It wasn't until it was all cleaned up that I could see them all. That's about the time I felt like giving up lol. Thanks for turning in and watching 👍👍👍
You amazed me with this , Whoever watches, this video needs to leave a comment and a like. This is perfection right here. Thank you again sir for a fantastic restoration

1. I would have given up already during the disassembly (you really like to suffer) 😅 2. The choice of colors is very nice, I especially like the hammered gray of the frame 3. If all those holes in the tank haven't stopped you, you can do anything Final result splendid and clean as always, it's a pleasure to follow your work.
Thank you very much for all those kind words. Yes I did suffer lol way too much work, if I pick something simple I don't get the views 😔. I was not sure on the colour to be honest. I sent the wife down to get green paint and that's what she came home with lol. Thanks for your ongoing support, I do appreciate it 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching Vic and for the suggestion. I would love a laser rust remover. If you would like to donate with the Give thanks icon that would be appreciated, those things are very expensive 👍
@@Austeration Personal experience with liquid fuel metal founts and the difficulty in finding potential holes keeps me from attempting things this deteriorated. I'm currently fiddling with a bunch of railroad lanterns. The worst one I fixed by epoxying a cut down vegetable can inside original container. The rest of them were good enough that liquid gas tank sealer fixed the leaks. Funny how light will not show thru places where kerosene will seep. Your text is a good read for those contemplating something like this for the first time.
@@paulhare662 at the end of the day Paul I don't think there is any right or wrong way to fix the holes as long as you give it a go. Using an old can would work for sure. I try and encourage anyone to just have a go, most people are afraid to fail but you only fail by not trying, it's the only way to learn If I could have replaced the bottom of this one without spending too much time and money I would have. Did you see the lantern I did a while back ? This is the first time I have tried putting steps like this in the description so I'm interested to see if it helps anyone. I appreciate all your comments 👍
@@Austeration Yes, I watched the lantern fix. My soldering skills and tools are not good enough to tackle a job like that. I'm a mig weld it unless it's too thin. If too thin, epoxy it.
@@paulhare662 that's brilliant I don't have the skills or tools to be able to Mig weld but I wish I did. That fix was the first time I had tried anything like that so I was lucky it worked. Took me 12 months to plan it out in my head before I even thought about touching it.

Really neat restoration. Can’t believe you were able to fix all the holes.
It was a painful job. I was worried when I put that center piece back in that I was going to disturbed something.

Did you replace the mica window with plastic sheet?
*No I don't think plastic would last very long before it catches fire and melts all over my fresh paint. 😅 lol*

I think I would have soaked that wick in full strength bleach and then have done multiple rinsings in water. Still, you had a beautiful outcome. ☺
Thank you Yana. I think that could have worked but I had already spent too many hours on this one.
It came out great, those brackets on top, like of look like bears with their necks extended 😉. Was that sheet mica that you used in the window area ?
