Thanks for the awesome videos man! I'm considering the compressor install on my new to me 2023 Sierra AT4. In the meantime, you inspired me to get creative with my Schrader valve for manual airing up. Being a recent leg amputee living in MN, getting down to the hitch area to air up my bags was not only getting harder to do, but it was also a safety issue if I wasn't on dry/level ground. Now I'm thinking I'm going to route the air hose up into the left rear bed stake pocket, coil up a foot or so of line and terminate it with the Schrader valve. When I need to adjust the air, I can simply pull it from the pocket, then coil up the air line and put it back out of sight. I don't use those pockets anyways, so it seems like a solid solution. We'll see. Thanks again for the inspiration!
I opted to go with the Air Lift WirelessOne system. It's been fantastic. I keep the dedicated remote in the console, but I probably almost exclusively use the Air Lift app on my phone. Incredibly fast and convenient.
Which holes were used on compressor bracket to attach to sheet metal? It looks like you used the outside holes and how many washers were used for spacers
Very clean install. Nice work! I did something similar to this on my F150 years ago. Now I am getting ready to attempt an install of this unit on my F350. Got to find the room somewhere to keep it out of the weather

Thinks for the Video and idea of were to install my system in my 2019 Chevy. Because I did not like the under the frame do to the weather. Once thanks again for the video and idea.
I just bought a 2024 Chevy 2500 hd used with 15k miles on it and this same system came with it, Iam new to this, all I wanted to ask if this will make the ride stiffer and bounce more without loads, thank you
On a 1500 crew cab short box it makes the rear end stiffer, on an HD with minimal inflation, I don’t know if you’ll notice it get much stiffer. I have also changed my rear shock to a Bilstein option and that made a slight difference as well.
Don - Thank you so much for making this video! I am going to be adding this Air Lift 25980EZ WirelessOne / EZ Mount and the Loadlifter 5000 Ultimate Air Springs to my 2018 Chevy Silverado. But I have some questions and hope you can provide some insights. I live in Montana and we do have wet / snow / cold etc. that would not be ideal for a frame mount. I do have the secondary battery spot on the drivers side under the engine compartment hood as you mentioned in this video and would love to place the compressor there since I don't have the awesome spot / space you have installed yours on your AT4 by the battery on the passenger side. Based on the recommendations for orientation installation, can I install the EZ Mount compressor in a face up configuration with the logo on top ( like you see it on the template copy) and orientate it on the battery tray to closely match the length / width of the compressor mount. It would be a fantastic OEM spot to use on my truck. Let me know your thoughts and recommendations. Thanks!

I am wiring the compressor up to a switch this week too just to avoid a dead battery if a line blew when the truck is unattended."
Totally wicked bro! Disregard my last message on your Aux Beam controller install video where I asked you if you can, or if you made a video. I do tow a tri-axle gooseneck dump trailer so i feel like this would work well with my application (plus I’d love to have on board air when we go to the lake and I gotta inflate all the kids tubes lol).
Thanks for the video, installed mine this weekend on my AT4 diesel. Your videos have been amazing education for my 2022, keep up the great work. Could you share which 10A ignition fuse you used to tap into?
So it doesn’t power itself up if it senses a drop in minimum pressure. If you had a faulty line it would eventually kill your battery if you weren’t there to observe what was happening
Just found your videos....Good Job...I'm fixing to install this same system on my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation X31.....When you bolted the unit in there did you use bolts od self tapping screws
On your Install of the compressor - even though you predrilled your holes. What size bolts did you use to secure it to the frame?? Thanks Great Video. Can't wait to install mine!!
I think they we 1/2" self tapping. I made the hole a little smaller than the bolts I used so they would bite well. They have never worked themselves loose either.
I don’t think I would recommend adding this to your existing Air suspension. I think your existing sensors would send fault codes when the new gear is introduced. We have a 2022 Escalade with 4 wheel air ride and I wouldn’t change it
Did the same location on my 2022 today. The bolts in the box were not long enough due to it not being totally flat in there. I bought a couple longer bolts and a couple rubber bushings to go between the compressor plate and the truck. It’s got just a bit of wiggle to it now. I’ll check it after a couple drives to ensure nothing is loosening up. I think I saw some spacers on your setup. How’s it holding up?
Hey don. Love the videos man. Was wanting to install my compressor like u did. I have a 2021 Chevy 2500. Was wondering if u rerouted the horn on yours? Looks like my horn is in that spot on the Chevy. I should be able to move the horn maybe but was wondering if u did the same. Another thing I was hoping u could help me on is, did u drill all the way through to get nuts and bolts on the compressor or did u just use screws? I just ordered bags and compressor so I’m not sure what comes with the compressor
Hey Jason! I was lucky on the 1500 that the horn is in a different location. I used some coarse thread self tapping bolts to grab the metal, no need to drill all the way through. Everything is working flawlessly still since the install
I put a on off switch inside the cab for this. Didn't want it to drain the battery maintaining the minimum air requirement. Do you find the compressor turns on randomly just to re-pressurize?
Thanks for the video Don, much appreciated! Question on the pink reigger wire, did ypu ever find a proper "ignition switched " fuse/circut to tap into? Im having a heck of a time finding one under the hood that only comes on with the ignition... Thanks for any info on this. BTW: Your tutorial/video was VERy informative while I installed this set up on my 24 Denali 1500!
Mine is connected to my cooled seat fuse. The main power wire still needs to be connected. From the installation manual: Connect the pink wire to any wire that is active when the ignition is on. This will allow WirelessONE to make adjustments as soon as the ignition is turned on. Otherwise, the system will only activate when the vehicle moves or when woken up by the controller or mobile app. Hardware to connect to the ignition is not included. This is a low-amperage circuit that should be connected to the output side of a 10A or smaller fuse-protected circuit.
I just measured it for you. It was difficult to be precise since everything is mounted. The wireless compressor with the steel cage is 10.5-11” in length. 6” wide and 6” high.
What compressor model is that, I have manual fill bags independent fill per side, wanting to install onboard air like yours with a tiny tank hidden in my tool box for filling tires.
@@Donslife your last truck was the 2019 at4 right? Do you know if there is any difference between the sle in terms of engine bay room? I have airlift 5000 bags with internal bump stop and wanted to do the install under the hood for a compressor but the shop said impossible lol I live in Winnipeg and 1 snow fall will trash that compressor if frame mounted.

Yes! A couple ways actually. You could hook up an auxiliary line with a shut off for the air bags that would redirect the air to a fill line for your wheels. Or you could install a tank using a similar idea. I will probably put a shut off bypass for bags and a quick connect for an auxiliary line to fill tires.
Important: No one told me I had to lift the front end at least 2.5 inches at the lower strut or 3 inches at the top as I ended up doing. I'm running pressure at 22 lbs to level my truck. if I had used maybe a 2.5-inch lift I could balance truck level at 10 lbs. Best to yous
Living in the climate that you do, and knowing that you can have some colder weather, one thing you have to watch for is water(condensation) in the air lines, it can freeze leaving your system inoperable and quite possibly damaging air lines and other components...
True, I could do that, or worst case pull the compressor for the winter and use the schrader valve and manually fill. I don’t really tow anything when it is winter here
😂 I haven’t got around to it yet. My plan is to trace a circuit in the engine fuse panel that is only active when the ignition or acc is on. When I do it, I will report back.
Which bolts did you use to anchor the compressor? Self tapping bolts? That support you drill into is a full tube so I assume you didn’t use lock nuts as there is now way to get at them.
Hi Don, I think you mentioned that you ended up tapping into the existing trigger wire of the air compressor when you wired up the Auxbeam 8 gang switch. I see here that some asked the question I had, what fuse did you end up using as the trigger wire? Inside the cabin or engine fuse box? Fuse #? Sorry if you already answered this but I didn’t see it in any of the comments.
Interesting note. When you scroll through videos on TH-cam (iPhone TH-cam) if you leave at the top of screen it auto plays the thumbnails. TH-cam says “welcome to Dawns life” in the closed captions Good work brother.
Thanks for sharing. Great idea. I’m looking to do the same. Do you know what length you used for the self tapping bolts? I ask because it appears the bracket for the compressor won’t sit flush because of the fender bracket.
Hey Don, Question for you as it was hard to tell in the video, when you bolted the Compressor were you able to get a nut on the opposite side of the metal, if so do you have any tips as its a tight space, if not, what type of fastener did you use to ensure it doesnt vibrate loose over time. Thanks in advance.
Hi Justin, I used self tapping bolts a little larger than the predrilled holes I made. I also added lock washers. Zero issues, and nice and snug. The compressor is mounted with rubber bushings too inside the brackets.
@@Donslife Thank you for the info I truely appreciate it. One more question if you happen to know. I am using a Viair comressor and it fits in that same spot, but it seems a bit heavy. Do you know roughly how much weight can safely be bolted to the metal there? The compressor and mount combined are roughly 10-15 lbs. Thanks again.
@@justinperkins864 no worries. My unit with the mount is 10lbs. You should be good up to 15. You could always switch to nuts and bolts 🔩 vs the self tapping bolts w/lock wahsers like me.
Any reason you didn't mount it under the bed? Seems like there's a lot of room under there. Going to be doing something similar on my 2018 Dually. Is there any way for the compressor to be installed so it can work double duty for tires and such? I guess it would work it hard since there's no tank.
You can mount under the bed for sure. My climate and weather it would be rusted and worn out after one winter. I did add an auxiliary fill line and you can use the bags as a tiny tank. I could add a tank anytime and I might. Check out the video: th-cam.com/video/RhqsI4NC2rU/w-d-xo.html
@@Donslife I saw your other video right after I asked the question. That's a clean install. Have you found it sufficient for tire maintenance. My only fear is high pressure. The trailer I'm towing maxes at 110psi
@@Donslife I wonder if it would make more sense in stall the bags with a manual fill only.. then a separate, higher capacity on-board air system. Just thinking out loud.
Not with my boat, but I expect it to with my holiday trailer. Boat is about 6000lbs with the trailer and just levelled the suspension out. The holiday trailer, loaded with stuff will be closer to 7500lbs
I installed the same system a few weeks ago and your video influenced me to install install the compressor in the engine area. I like the idea of keeping it out of the weather. Recently the unit has been acting up and I'm speculating that it is getting too hot for it in the engine area. After the engine is on for a little while (maybe over 10 minutes) the unit becomes unresponsive. Have you experienced any issues like this?
I haven't experienced that at all. How long is the compressor running? Mine will only kick in when I adjust my bags between 5-10 lbs. The odd time when cold, the air pressure drops and the system tops up to the minimum 5lbs. I also have the pink wire connected to an ignition source so the compressor will only come on in specific situations when the vehicle is off. I am wiring the compressor up to a switch this week too just to avoid a dead battery if a line blew when the truck is unattended.
I’ve installed my airbags without any issues but my compressor is something else… worked for a few days but then seems that it gave out. Tried to turn on compressor but quickly turns off and doesn’t inflate the bags anymore.. happen to know anything about it? Maybe bad compressor or relay?
That doesn't sound right for the compressor. I assume you've looked at the manual to see if there are any troubleshooting tips. Otherwise, I'd reach out to AIRLIFT
Don, you seriously show me how to do everything I want to on my AT4, thank you for the clear videos! I’m mounting a dual path compressor and it fits where you did yours but it’s tight. I also find it doesn’t flush mount due to the bends and welds on the beam you’re mounting it to. Did you find your compressor isn’t flush, or did you some metal shaping in the compartment?
Hey Don, Your Videos are very informative and well made, I agree I think that is a good place for the compressor I’m about to install the same system, Did you need to relocate the horn, I have 2021 Dinali package 3500 HD and the dual horn is in that location from factory,
Hey there 👋🏼. I haven’t paid attention to the horn location on the 3500’s. I think you’d have to plan a good spot for relocation if that’s what you want to do…and extend the wiring.
What are the chances of you doing a video on how to to use the using the same air compressor and adding and aux air tank? Could come in handyFor airing up tires running air tools and my maybe a train horn lol
It would be sweet if they made a rubber bag with quick coupler air fittings so that you could have a temporary air tank that could easily be stored under the back seat

I see here that some asked the question I had, what fuse did you end up using as the trigger wire? Inside the cabin or engine fuse box? Fuse #? Sorry if you already answered this but I didn’t see it in any of the comments.
The compressor sounds sorta loud on camera, is it that loud in person?
Yes it is the standard loudness for a compressor this size.
what's the name of the long drill bit attachment please?
I don't know the brand but this is what it is: amzn.to/44yC5hd
Great vid! This void warranty's?
It didn’t void mine. GM service techs liked the idea and the integration
@@Donslife super cool integration. I got the regular kit tho, not sure it will all fit in the same spot.
Thanks!
@@Donslife you happen to have footage from when you tapped the ignition hot wire? Was it from the panel under the hood?
Interesting note. When you scroll through videos on TH-cam (iPhone TH-cam) if you leave at the top of screen it auto plays the thumbnails. TH-cam says “welcome to Dawns life” in the closed captions
Good work brother.
A.I. isn’t so smart I guess 🤔
Thanks for sharing. Great idea. I’m looking to do the same. Do you know what length you used for the self tapping bolts? I ask because it appears the bracket for the compressor won’t sit flush because of the fender bracket.
I think they were approximately 1.5" long since the fender bracket isn't a flush surface. You just need about 1/2" to penetrate to get a good hold.
Nice install!
Thanks. It has performed beautifully
what kind of airbags did you use sir
For this install, Air Lift
What system did you install?
This one was an Air Lift 5000
I'm looking at the same setup. Since I put 2" add a leafs on my SLT, do you think I should get the bags for AT4? Seems logical to me.
I had a set of bags on my Sierra Denali prior to this truck and never regretted it for a second.
@@samasenter you would need a tank for sure for something like that
@@Donslife I wonder if it would make more sense in stall the bags with a manual fill only.. then a separate, higher capacity on-board air system. Just thinking out loud.
I’m going to install my wireless One in the same spot on my 2020 3500 Z71. That area looks even smaller in person! 🥴
It’s a. Challenge!
Did it squat alot before the airbags?
Not with my boat, but I expect it to with my holiday trailer. Boat is about 6000lbs with the trailer and just levelled the suspension out. The holiday trailer, loaded with stuff will be closer to 7500lbs
What does your door jam sticker list for payload and tow capacity?
@@neil8807 8800lbs
Where did you get that long 90 degree extension for you drill?
I think Home Depot. 1/4” 90° drill adapter. Then you can add any extensions needed for either end
I know this comment was a year ago but @michaelkirk did you find the issue?
thanks for the instructions just curious how you connected the pink ignition wire and what fuse adapter did you use
I used a micro 2 fuse tap from Amazon and connected to the heated or cooled seat circuit. I forget the fuse # 24 or 27 maybe?
Its on the right side the number is f20 cool seat
How is it holding up after a couple years?
Great. No issues. Even in the cold
Slow down Don, you’re going to have a whole new truck before I even get mine 😂
I can’t do it 😂
I’ve installed my airbags without any issues but my compressor is something else… worked for a few days but then seems that it gave out.
@ long story short it was a air line that got melted with the exhaust! 😣 jokes on me!
Hey! You can email me (in video description) or DM on Instagram. I can send you a picture
Hey Don,
Your Videos are very informative and well made, I agree I think that is a good place for the compressor I’m about to install the same system, Did you need to relocate the horn, I have 2021 Dinali package 3500 HD and the dual horn is in that location from factory,
Hey there 👋🏼. I haven’t paid attention to the horn location on the 3500’s. I think you’d have to plan a good spot for relocation if that’s what you want to do…and extend the wiring.
Did it ever overheat and where it stops working?
I haven’t encountered an overheating situation
@@Donslife thank you very much for you answer!
A full towing review will be coming soon!!
Can you add this to a 2019 dodge ram
Yes but it will be a different part number
What are the chances of you doing a video on how to to use the using the same air compressor and adding and aux air tank? Could come in handyFor airing up tires running air tools and my maybe a train horn lol
I have always had the idea too, but not sure if I will do that install anytime soon. Never say never
It would be sweet if they made a rubber bag with quick coupler air fittings so that you could have a temporary air tank that could easily be stored under the back seat
I bought an auxiliary airtank but I might need to upgrade the compressor since it would take 3-4 mins to fill with this one
@@Donslife ahh gotcha. I think it's perfect for a emergency situation out in the bush! Just getting to the aux tank video now haha
What shocks did you installed my truck is rides funny
Bilstein 5100 ride height adjustable in the front for the AT4. Air bags will add a little more stiffness even with minimal air in the bags too
Would this work for a car
Yes but the compressor in this video is geared more towards load levelling air bags
Can you ever turn this system completely off?
Yes
How
Cant wait for the towing review.
You and me both! My plan is pull both the boat and holiday trailer in the video and see how they each handle with the bags empty and filled.
@@Donslife nice! I pulled my heartland trailer last week with my 19 at4 for the first time and it did feel a bit bouncy in the back. Trailer weights 5700lbs dry.
Great video
Thanks
12 v?
Yes 12 volt
I need the pairing 😂
On your Install
amazing....seems expensive
Going wireless is a little more expensive, yes. I feel it is a reasonable cost for the benefit
I was here to see the step by step of the electrical install, as I am ignorant on that. Then you skipped right through it. Otherwise helpful video.
Sorry about that
