I enjoy GODZILLA anime trilogy so much and I rewatching over again.
It has scientific and a same tone since GODZILLA 1954

@@GF51811 Yeah....if this trio was riddled with studio interference (toho) which the director of said trilogy publicly admitted to, then that says alot on how flawed the trilogy is

@@GF51811 pretend what? Studio interference isn't something to pretend doesn't happen as it does happen and did happen with this trilogy. It doesn't hold up as the director, the writer and the animators were all limited to what they could and couldn't do, simply because toho wanted to try too hard to appeal to potential new fans by copying the shin gojira formula while simultaneously forgetting what made shin so appealing and what made the anime trilogy get ignored mostly by it's target audience.
There is a reason why those fan made MMD godzilla earth animations and the prequel novels are everything the trilogy wasn't

Yes an extravaganza of kaiju that bearly appeared in the anime trilogy. Mechagodzilla city is stupid. Ghidorah is just a bunch of noodles. Mothra just in Haruo imagination. This trilogy sucks
Honestly, I liked Mechagodzilla City. I thought it was a cool concept. I also like the ramen Ghidorah thing they had going on. I would've been disappointed with Mothra, but they mentioned she was an egg in the previous movie, so I didn't expect Mothra to show up. But I was happy with the fact the movie gave us a brief scene with Mothra. I think It just kinda comes down to if you like or dislike the way these monsters are reimagined.

@@Blotzwave the way they were re-imagined was hated by the majority of the fandom. When fans think of mechagodzilla they think of a mecha that LOOKS like godzilla fighting godzilla physically. Not a battle fortress. If they wanted to make mechagodzilla a city at least make him a titan from the transformers franchise. Ghidorah being a interdimensional god is fine. The fact they made ghidorah 3 snake like bodies that did nothing but bite godzilla is not good and even if mothra was implied to be just an egg they gave us a mere cameo of her which isn't enough to hold fans over.
@@Kaiju-bm4ts Well, I've seen it 50/50. A fair amount of people like them, and then there's a fair amount of people that don't. I mean I still saw more backlash for Godzilla 2014. (But then again, that one was more well known). Fans do think of a Mecha for Mechagodzilla, but then that sometimes becomes "Hey remember that anime one that was a super fortress?" And then it's either "Oh, I hated that lol" or "That was quite a different yet interesting direction to go with the Mechagodzilla concept." As for Ghidorah? Yeah got nothing to add on that. He just bit Godzilla the for 90% of the time. Oddly enough, I didn't really fully notice that until I was done watching the movie. So it didn't bother me then, doesn't now. Though I understand why some may find it boring. But it's not like Godzilla just stood still, like he still moved and attacked, so it wasn't like watching paint dry exactly. At least with Mothra they didn't advertise "Hey Mothras in this movie!" I mean they could've left it at just an egg, but I did appreciate the breif silhouette appearance. Better than nothing. I think the anime trilogy will always be remembered as "The drastic reimaginings of Godzilla, Godzilla monsters, and Godzilla story." That just up to whoever's watching it to decide how much they like it dislike it. I think it's fun in that way.
@@Blotzwave It's definitely not 50/50 going off by what I've seen. Mechagodzilla city is mostly hated. Ghidorah is hated but not as much because of how overpowered he is. Meanwhile godzilla earth is the only thing from the trilogy fans actually like. The amount of people that love trilogy are low on the English speaking side of the fandom meanwhile the majority of reviews and reactions from fans can be summed up in the 2 common words to describe the trilogy: *Wasted Potential* In regards to g14 that movie still had mixed reactions from fans but at least those reactions are mixed. The reactions towards the trilogy mostly isn't mixed. Maybe monster planet was mixed but as the trilogy went on it went from having mixed reactions to mostly having negative ones.
Godzilla moved very slowly to the point it was hard to tell if he was moving at all and your only indication he was moving was when you heard a big footstep that sounded like a earthquake. If he wasn't moving slowly then he was sleeping which he did for the majority of his screentime until he was called to be active for the plot. At least with shin and ultima you could tell they were moving despite they were slow too.
Let's also not forget the trilogy definitely wasn't original when making new kaiju. The servum are interesting in their origins but did nothing after destroying most of the landing ships except for 2 thus stranding the humans on earth. That was their only role and afterwards they are just equivalent to birds flying in the background in the sequels. Plus monster planet is called monster planet yet you see all the classic kaiju for a few seconds and you don't get the feeling the planet is dominated by kaiju when all you see is servum and 2 godzillas. That's a lack of variety if you ask me. Adding in mothra for a cameo just felt like unnecessary fan service when she was so prominent in the prequel novels.
Overall the anims trilogy will mostly just be seen as 3 films that wanted to be so different they risked alienating fans and casual viewers that understood kaiju movies for the sake of appealing to women that didn't even like kaiju movies to begin with and in the end payed the price for it. 1 financial success. 2 financial flops
