Fantastic summary, thank you. This needs to be shared far and wide - suggest everyone share it and spread the word, especially for those who don't know better and/or don't get access to this information or level of analysis. The ANCancer is hell-bent on destroying this country. We've GOT to vote them OUT COMPLETELY.

I agree with you, Mike. I taught at a top Afrikaans girls school, and now lecture at a university. Mother-tongue education is really crucial for the academic development of the learner. I completely understand that English is the international standard, but learners (and first year students, to be frank) really fare far better when learning fundamental concepts in their home language. This is something that the BELA act will place in danger.
I trust this will be resolved in the courts. It’s just a pity that the courts have to remind politicians about their constituencies’ rights.

100% agree with you on all points Mike! I am watching the DA very closely and if they start just going along with the ANC, albeit supposedly kicking and screaming, I will definitely reevaluate my next vote. I voted for them for the good of the country, not for them to capitulate to the ANC on every policy to ensure that they just keep their ministerial positions and the country continues its decline. As for Pravin Gordhan - it really amuses me how mainstream media are now trying to paint him as some kind of deity! He was a commie who only put himself, the ANC & the SACP above the country and, as you rightly said, sat by while his Comrade Zuma and merry band of thieves robbed this country blind. He may have been a competent commie, but a commie nonetheless.

    Good analysis Mike.
However, ONE thing regarding this Bela Bill and the practicality on the ground of getting away with it........
Let's take the Northern Cape for example - the western half.
So the western half of the Northern Cape is well over 85% speaking Afrikaans (where many folk - especially coloured cannot understand another language - also English).
I've been all around that province.
I recall a couple years back when they tried to get a school in Upington to have its medium of instruction in English. There was such a backlash that eventually they had to back down.
And they couldn't play the race card because the school was ~ 75% coloured and 25% white.
Many people living in the cities think that these areas of the country - pretty much only whites speak Afrikaans - meanwhilst those are the areas where one sees on the ground that Afrikaans is simply not spoken in majority by whites!
I can understand and speak in English and Afrikaans but naturally I start speaking in English first. I will never forget the first time I went there over 20 years ago and when I opened my mouth in a shop speaking English - the people (all coloureds) just looked at me as if I was speaking Greek!!!!!!
So I moved to speaking Afrikaans and all was good.
You see this is the problem with this government (and media). They either think or like to portray Afrikaans as this white oppressors language when meanwhilst on the ground its spoken of course by many whites (~ 62% of the white population) BUT over 75% of the coloured population (if not more!)
Which also moves into the rural Western Cape and Cape Town itself!
I cannot see them practically getting away with the Bela Bill in that regard.
Just like NHI - this is all fluff and pie in the sky. I want to see the realities being attempted. Let them try this in Calvinia or Carnarvon in the Northern Cape or Swellendam in the rural Western Cape. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

When this Bela bill is discussed - laws like all children have to attend Gr0 and the question around the language taught in etc....
What is also included in this bill is sex education that borders on porn - taught to young primary school children that I wouldnt imagine was fitting to high school students..... Most people arent aware of this because they dont look further than the surface...

Would you rather the DA walks away and open the door to an ANC Far Left / EFF / MK coalition? Is that what you want?

Interesting comment, I would temper the early condemnation just too quickly, In warfare the goal is to win the war and it is just not possible to win every battle. read the Art of War by Sun Su , I would just bide my time as the cool heads in the DA, Patriotic Alliance etc to my ignorant eye are playing a long game , The parties in the GNU (excluding the ANC) will not and should not play their hand and give away the game before they are strong enough to win the war.
Look to NZ and it is pretty amazing how fast the Leftist Progressive agenda of Ardern has been repealed in the NZ parliament. Ziller , MacKenzi, and cohorts seem to be pretty astute and as with most things ANC …… implementation is not their strong suite and with what Afriforum and other civil societiy organisations have proven that we as citizens can play and win in LAWFARE battle. The fact that legal action by Afriforum stopped the ANC giving R50 million to Cuba is a case in point. South Africa is now the leading indicator of how to fight and win in the global progressive movement . Civil society must stand together and fight this with all means possible. Tie the Government up in court, use every method possible to signal that the citizens will not be dictated to when it comes to the rights of parents and schools. This will only end when communist and socialist indoctrination is removed from academia.
