- Former Conservative prime minister Liz Truss has lost her seat in the UK general election.
Truss was standing in the constituency of South West Norfolk and lost to Labour by 630 votes.
In 2019, she won the seat with a majority of 26,195.
Truss spent only 45 days as prime minister in 2022 - resigning after a mini-budget went wrong.

Just 630 votes difference, I am genuinely surprised by how many people still voted for her after the big mess she's got herself into as a PM

The Conservatives as a party have catastrophically failed, and right-wing vote was split by the Reform candidate. Liz Truss was treated unfairly. But that doesn't stop your malice oosing out.

For those of you who weren't watching live, she was literally late to the announcement. As the audience waited, they started slow clapping for her, and the other candidates were getting impatient. Even when she wasn't PM she was disappointing and angering.
She wasn't late. She'd been told just before that she lost and refused to get on stage.
And couldn’t even be bothered to wear the Blue Rosette of Selfservative Allegiance.

She is specifically the cause behind many people's financial struggles as a factor for many people - not everyone, no, but many. She's patently unfit for public office, and it's a travesty that her weeks-long stint as PM has left her with a pension of well over 100,000 a year for life - and she still has several decades ahead of her - as a reward for harming millions of people.

Reform also to an extent had a spoiler effect that benefited Labour at the expense of the Torries. It’s called tactical voting which I’ve done in the past and did it again to help oust the Torries even though I disagree with a number of Labours policy’s even as their leader has shifted them to the centre from the left
