A quick note on the Lionel RWM transformer. I said it was made for the Canadian market because it operates at 50 cycles. Today Canada uses the same 60 cycle power that we use here in the U.S., but when the RWM was being sold (1948-1954) Canada did use 50 cycle power...at least to some extent.
Lucky dog! You're not the only one crazy enough to collect transformers. That one and the 1043-500 are pretty difficult to find. Well the 500 isn't supper difficult but the prices are lol. I might have more transformers than trains..
The ACWR cars are a rarity for Lionel- the color is actually close! Having seen and chased the set a few times, the paint changes color depending on lighting. Very much a hot rod style "candy" color finish, glad to see they actually got the sheen right!
@@Ericstrains Eric you are correct AC&W is generator car . Now if you look up horse car your version is different ones I've seen posted pictures. Think allot old class 1 RR thier version had huge door on front of the car so haul wagon and horses twin doors like swing doors look like Arch pretty neat car ..
The train that you run at the end reminds me of the UP Donation train that's going across the Midwest right now, with all the variation of rolling stock.
I got the same CP caboose Removing the window in front of the cam significantly improves video quality. Dissembling the caboose is a pain. There are TH-cam video of people doing it.
FYI, the Canadian Pacific horse car "Pony Express" is an actual rail car now used as a party car. It has been used several times in the past on mostly California based rail excursions. Often behind Santa Fe steam locomotive 3751. CP rail number 4210. Was owned by William Garner. Not sure of current owner or disposition. Car was originally used to transport horses for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for various shows and events.
I'm a gerber knife fan. I may have to pick up that Tanto soon! Thanks for the showcase too! I am surprised that Conrail flatcar isn't a bulkhead. those pipes could fly off either end. (In real life not the model)
I think you're going to need a bigger display room some great looking rolling stock you have there Eric can't wait for that full set of cars in the engines come in too that would look absolutely hot running around your layout
Just in case you didn’t know, the Pony Express horse car is actually an open air car for passengers now, and was pulled by ATSF 3751 in 2013. Also, I’m super excited for the other Aberdeen Carolina and Western rolling stock as well!
October Started our Season of Model Rail Roading My wife And I have 2 Shows Left looking forward to the First Feb show what I Don’t get the First I’ll hit the Second one which Is a Bigger show Awsome Prices.
Hey Eric, have you ever heard of Klever Kutter yet? I love it and I use it to cut open a bundle of papers every Wednesday and Thursday you can also cut the box open with these cutters, I got it from amazon
Awesome video. I got back into model railroading in 2018. I run HO scale. I want to get O scale but not sure where to start. But for ho scale i highly recommend getting a few cards of the various lenght track pieces they usually have a few different sizes. Also there are a few track heights tou can choose. I perfer code 100 as the rails are taller then whats the other code 73 and codr 50 i think not sure i always used code 100. Im not an in the hobby but HO scale is an abreaviton for Half of O scale. If you want to run longer steam locomotives like say bachmanns U.P. #806 from the 9 car overland limited which is a 4-8-4 steam engine runs best on radius 20 curves or wider it'll run on 18 which is pretty standard but and locomotive bigger the a 4-8-4 will struggle. This is my knowledge from personal experience. I Hope it helps you with your HO scale adventures.
I like that car that has the horses that thing is funny crazy never heard a car sound like a horse u got put this back on I've got to hear what all it can sounds like...
Can you run the HO on your ON3 loop in the Colorado Room just for fun. I think you did on one of your videos a few years ago? Good looking O scale rolling stock in this video .

@@sparkysparx33 yeah the 500 turns up fairly regularly, it’s just super expensive
@@Ericstrains I think the latest I saw was $300 for it. Have a hard time pulling the trigger on that.
Hey Eric i love those AC&W RAILWAY cars, I actually know the director of business development at the AC&W Paul Hoben

Hi Eric Trains
Awesome “;-)”🚂
Are you done posting updates about your layout? Is it just reviews now? Thx.
Nope, there's a big layout tour video in the works.
Hello Eric.....I enjoy all of your videos. I have a question. What do you think of Weaver steam locomotives????
Eric, like your unboxing and other videos, but just wondering how you can afford all of the Lionels? You must be in good shape financially.
I found a magic lamp in antique shop and when I rubbed it a genie popped out and granted me 3 wishes. I used all 3 wishes on trains.
What other items did lionel make or modify for Canada?
There were a few transformers and I think a few sets that were marketed only in Canada if I recall correctly.
@@Ericstrains Any other countries as well?
Eric is the review for the Acela finished or did you put the Acela on the back burner for now?
Made in Vietnam !!!
Yes!!!
Hey, when is the review on the Lionel Vision Line GS's
Sometime this century lol
