- Today we mount the Vossen VWS-3 wheels on my Nissan 370Z Nismo!!!
These were delivered a few days prior, and it is time to start the new project for the 370z Nismo. They look so sick!
Now...should I leave the flares off, or modify them so they will fit when the car gets lowered? So far I do like the idea of them back on because it gives it a cool look, and will keep from water spinning up the side of the car.
These do weigh more than the stock wheels, but since I am keeping the stock set, I will be swapping back and forth for track days. The new set up will be the 'daily' setup since it looks so clean, and the stock set will be for track use since they weigh less :)

Idk why I was digging the stock wheels more but in the end you need to make it your own. I say lower it just a bit
Car looks good , I think the bronze would look better with a Black Z, I think the factory wheels look better overall... I have a 17 white Nizzo myself ...I'm hot and cold changing mine , big rim shop in Norfolk Va. I may take a ride.
Also, a nice set of eibach springs or H&R will give you a perfect wheel gap. 👍

He's gonna have to get the Z1 two piece rotors to make up for the weight increase $950 for a set, but they are track worthy!

Roll the fenders and get some lowering springs you'll get that perfect daily driver fitment.
The pretend flares are ok, just need the wheels pushed out a bit so it doesnt look tucked when you drop it. Unfortunately you will have to roll or cut the piece that rubs
As others have said, needs more low. Get some Eibach lowering springs or if you want to, some nice coilovers. Wheels look great though. Also get rid of the fender flares. It will look a lot better.
I believe the flares are designed on the NISMO for aero dynamics and not just for looks- Keep the flares

Personally wouldn't have altered a Nismo Z, the components (such as the fender flares) are there for a reason. If the offset and widths aren't the same then the dynamics of the car will now be out of spec.....the beginning of a very long road just to get it back to as good as it was..... But ultimately it's your car. :)
Yeah, can't beat the Volk wheels. If they had the bronze finish on the stock wheel; that would be sick

bro you put the wrong rear wheels on the wrong side... the tires are directional lmao. That means theyre designed to only face one way. *EDIT* looks like you realized it on/ before the test drive because after i can see theyre on correctly.

Thanks. I've got the 2017 370Z Nismo in black. Just upgraded to Stillen Gen 3 with Michelin 4S 305's off the stock 285's rear, which honestly, look better than the Vossens IMO? . I do appreciate you tuning me into the AAM test tubes with resonators - just ordered them yesterday. Shame the Wild Child is in the garage here in snowy Canada...but exhaust wise, "I'm cleanin" out my closet"....
Hey, up till now I followed all your mods om my 2017 nismo (except the AAM exhaust as it costs twice as much when shipping them to europe and I'm a bit afraid of the drone - I use my car as daily driver - but I'm still thinking about it because I love the exterior sound). However, I' m not gonna follow you with the wheels. I prefer the stock model. Nothing to do with handling or weight... not driving it on track you never get close to the limits, so weight is only factor for the bar talk :). The stock wheels, especially with the standard extras trim looks more aggressive. Keep those video's coming....
more weight in wheels will slow down acceleration. i don't like the stock wheels but they look better then the new ones. i like the wheels from the 2013-14 nismo. oh and by the way get the car up to 80-100mph i bet you have a shimmy in the ride. your going to need wheel centering rings. its a plastic piece that goes on the wheel hub lip. a lot of people don't know this and keep chasing a high speed balance problem and your balance is good on the rims and tires its because the after mkt rims fit the bolt pattern but don't fit the hub perfect. tires.tirerack.com/tires/Wheel%20Centering%20Rings

The terms "hub centric" and "lug centric" describe the method used to center a wheel on a vehicle's hub to prevent vibration. Most Original Equipment wheels are built with the same centerbore diameter as the hub diameter on the vehicle so the wheel is centered as soon as it's sitting on the studs or the hub. Vehicles have many different hub diameters (or hub bores), therefore aftermarket wheel manufacturers generally make wheels with a large centerbore so the wheel will go on many types of applications. They either use a centering ring or conical seat lug hardware to center the wheel on the hub. Thank me later for this info.
I have a pearl white 370z and almost got some black wheels but I’m skeptical that it won’t look as clean. For one I’m not a huge fan of the white on black. Pretty typical on a lot of white cars but idk what to look at rn. I’m. Im not fan of a lot of silver wheels but probably a better option then the black
Dude it needs to be lower I’d say maybe 2 inches Come on man you are a 370z lover just like me and they are the type of sports car that should be lower to the ground. They look way better and drive better when they are lower. I love youre channel and I love you’re car just feel it would be best to lower it.
I use to sell wheels for rent a wheel and since I'm very educated with cars I see these people and I shake my head cause the wheels are basically either same weight or heavier and I was lucky to change positions to tech position because if they see you sell your out of a job

Those flairs looks like some auto zone stuck on garbage. They should’ve never came with those from the factory . Especially on the nismo
it looks so good and so clean now all you need to do is lower it a little more and it will be like the perfect combo of a little bit of ricer but your car is still clean so u can use it as a daily
those are the kind of wheels you will put on a G37 or Q50 not on a NIsmo z ... you need light weight wheels !

Gurbachan Bhullar I would only be lowering around an inch. And since these wheels are taller than stock. My ground clearance won't end up changing much when I remove the wheel gap. I'm definitely not going for the 'static' lifestyle lol

I think it looks great but stock ones look good too. But PLEASE don't roll the arches and lower it . You will regret it and can't put it back to stock to sell. I made the mistake with my s2k.
JDM CJM The car stock already has 'rolled' flares. The actual body work won't touch the wheels. I'm definitely not doing anything that can't be reversed
Car looks perfect, height wise. Love the wheels. But, the unsprung weight penalty would drive me nuts. 10-12 pounds is quite a hit when centrifugal forces are brought into the equation.
Mario M True about the weight. And rolling diameter is actually more detrimental to performance then weight. But these are for daily use, hard to tell a difference. The stock ones are my track set now.

Honestly, do whatever makes you happy and you can't go wrong. I would lower it, but only a very very small amount. It would be super easy to over do it and make it look very very bad. But looks are subjective - I prefer the look of the stock wheels - so just do whatever you want with it lol.

Chad Franks The wheels are a bit taller than stock. So currently I do have more ground clearance than stock. So if I lower it a bit to remove the wheel gap. The ground clear will only be slightly less than stock.
Would love to see some shots in that last half hour of the day with sunlight hitting 'em! Find a high point + 100-200mm Focal length zoom. Looks sweet man! I'm never rockin 20's since Pilot super sports are already $1250 for 19" 255/285 combo :-(...
I think it looks great how it is now! Doesn't need to be lower. But I'm just thinking practically. Lowered looks great for pictures and a smooth track, but I've seen too many fails even with slightly lowered personally.
When using your torque wrench, do not go over the clicking point as you do right now because you are putting way more torque on the bolts. As soon as the wrench clicks, it has reach its preset torque, if you then keep torquing, the wrench will just keep going.
Maybe I missed it but what's the rim and tire size?
