Why do you peel him dry? Shouldn't you spray or mist him first or give him a soak or shower? The softened skin would come off easier and with less risk of hurting the skin under his scales. And stuck shed isn't really good either, is he getting enough humidity and moisture?
Most of the time its already detached completely from the skin, just stuck to some of the shed that isn’t detached. So you have to pull the detached skin for undetached shed (If that makes sense!)
