    All my interactions with CJ (or C. Jay as it originally was) have been super great. I am fortunate, and old enough, to have seen the Ramones several times with Dee Dee & with CJ. I can tell you that when he joined the band, the energy of the band changed and, more importantly, the energy of the crowd changed. After that first tour, we all knew there was a new bassist, we knew the story, etc. He was like one of us now playing with our favorite band. It was awesome. Out of all the post-Ramones Ramones stuff, like Joey, Richie, Marky ... CJ's is the best by far. The first one called Bad Chopper is so great! But his albums that are just C.J. Ramone are just superb writing, production, songs. Definitely Ramones sounding ... but not a copy / paste. He really puts his own spin into those songs. He has a few that he wrote for friends that have passed on. Even tho they're sad, you can really hear his sincerity in his voice & lyrics.
    OK, enough typing ... I'm gonna go listen to some CJ Ramone.

    C.J. sos un capo y fuiste mi primera inspiración para empezar a tocar el bajo y cantar algun que otro tema. Despues vinieron Duff, Flea y Eric Avery, y muchos otros. Pero nadie iguala la potencia de este man con los Ramones en los 90s. Les dio un tremendo aire fresco como siempre se dice.

    I always took the song to be mocking the newer generation of political hardcore bands. "I've got a lot to say... I can't remember now" -- but at the same time, it was an unconscious admission that the Ramones had grown stagnant. It was a kind of an attack and a retreat at the same time. Satirical bark, but sadly no bite. Growing irrelevant in the 90's when everyone from grunge to hardcore punk were inspired by you, but suddenly there's no place for you.

    Staying with his mom and dad?... He's said for years he was in the brig and went awol numerous times to do the auditions. And he said it was not Monty who called it was Johnny. No wonder Marky distanced himself from CJ and Richie over the years. Both are full of bs.

    • @jackdaley4518
      @jackdaley4518 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nah the story is poorly edited. He tells it the same each time. Monty give him the first call back. And he thought he forgot something. He went awol to continue auditioning . Johnny called him in the brig to offer him the job.

    • @Bone74838
      @Bone74838 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jackdaley4518 BS poorly edited. He tells a completely different story each time through the years. So what is there to believe with him. Marky has not wanted to have anything to do with CJ ever over the decades. And that should speak for itself.

    • @TryNSave
      @TryNSave ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Bone74838 Whatever, pal. You don’t know his full story; I’m sure he has been telling the same thing consistently for the most part, but it goes to show that the fuller picture comes to light as time goes on. An example of this is Linda Ramone stating that although there has been a long-standing perception that Joey and Johnny didn’t want anything at all to do with each other post-retirement, they still exchanged sentimental cards to one-another, especially during the holidays. So maybe CJ didn’t previously divulge the entire story, or maybe it gets muddled after nearly 35 years.
      I don’t know why I’m even responding to you anyhow; you’re a Marky sycophant, and no one in the band cares for that guy, with his comments about Joey and accusing Johnny of being a not-see.

    • @richardarnold5279
      @richardarnold5279 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@Bone74838 what are you even talking about? Nothing about his story changed over the years. It's been consistently the same story every time. Monte called him at his parents house to come back for another audition. He was eventually thrown into the brig (for going awol to audition) and that's when Johnny called him. What's there not to believe? Sounds like you just have a hang-up with CJ.
