HEY Y’ALL! Merina is my name and Mobile Home Livin’ is my thang! Around here I’m known for mobile home makeovers and large family mobile home livin’! I used to do mobile home livin’ in a trailer park in Tennessee. We’ve set out on a new journey and bought our dream home - a double wide mobile home on some acreage in the hills of Tennessee! I just wanna thank you today. I have love watching your videos, but today you helped me so much. I have been struggling with a few things concerning my walk with God… It’s hard to explain in a comment, but I bought a house four years ago and it’s just me doing the work and I’ve been reading scripture (selling your possessions,etc) that made me feel like I should’ve never bought the house Even though it was my dream to buy a House. I had to wait until I was 50 years old to buy it and I have been battling that maybe I was being too materialistic in wanting a house ;and your little talk about Praying over things because God cares about what’s on my mind and how he will help me. When I tell you that it brought me to tears (I’m still crying) I mean, tears of relief and happiness that I’m not disappointing Him. He used You to speak to me I believe. I know this may sound weird but it’s the best I can explain it in a paragraph. Thank you again. May God bless you and keep you. All my love… Shawna
I really believe the selling all your possessions thing could mean if you value those things over God. Sort of a “sell it all and follow me thing”. Owning your own home is such a blessing. You’re able to create a space and an atmosphere where God is so welcome and ever present. You can go a hundred different places where God is unwanted but in your home there will always be a place for God. I think that’s the best part of owning one❤️❤️ EVERY good gift comes from the Lord..that’s Bible. A home protects you and brings you joy. It’s a gift from God, He wouldn’t ever be disappointed in something HE has provided you with ❤️❤️

Yes! Merina! I talk to God about my hair, clothes, cooking, cleaning, creating, parenting,...all the things. And I constantly ask to create in me a clean heart. We talk all day long. My husband didn't believe me until God started telling me things that were going to happen and when it proved true, he was shook. God has me in constant awe and wonder. What a beautiful relationship we get to have with our heavenly Father! Praise Him!
SUGGESTION: Move your fridge to were the treadmill is and dishwasher to the left of the sink. Then you can use the fridge space as more pantry space! PS you guys are doing amazing on that island! ❤
Merina this looks amazing you really have no idea how much you inspire us to do DIY’s and the very best part is the testimony you share with us the love you have for Our Lord and Savior❤❤. I want to give you an update on my nephew with the cancer, he is leaving for Philadelphia tomorrow to meet his oncology team and the anesthesia team. They will be harvesting his T cell to be sent off to make the car T cells which will attack his cancer. It will take anywhere from 6-8 weeks for this process. Your prayers have made a huge difference, his bone marrow biopsy showed No Leukemia cells. Thank you all for your prayers God is good always ❤️🙏🏻

Morning, if you don’t think you will have enough room ….. move the refrigerator next to the stove. You will still have room and it will not block the window, the water line is right there for your ice maker. This is so exciting. Moving the fridge will make the kitchen more efficient.🎉😊 The counter top is beautiful 😍.Great job ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I sat down and thanked GOD myself after watching this. I am an artist,and trying to blend with acrylics is very difficult ! Doing your research and taking your TIME was KEY. Those false fronts on the sink bases should be able to be converted to tilt-outs. It doesn’t create a lot of extra storage but they’re great for small things that can get lost in the shuffle.

Reposition the vents make sure you open fridge, oven and dishwasher doors before you positions the island giving you space.

I bought an expensive marble top for my island, and within a year the weight of it caused my double wide floor to start sinking in, had to take it out and go under house and repair floors,did like you did, all still good after 6 years.

I love the counters!! I painted some "granite" countertops years & years ago before it was more popular to do so. Everyone thought I was crazy, but they turned out absolutely amazing. My Daddy owned over 100 rental properties at the time. He loved them so much he had me paint a bunch of countertops in his rentals!! He passed away unexpectedly, July 7th will be three years, and I inherited some of his rentals. I still get compliments on those countertops still to this day! 😂

I got tears when you started talking about talking to God and praying about everything before you do it and giving Him the glory. Thank you! That gave me the reminder that I needed. I use to do that with everything and would pray with people right when they said they needed prayer and I want to get back to that. I want to get back to being in continual prayer throughout the day that never stops. You’re so right, when we talk to Him our relationship grows and we get closer to Him like never before. You are an amazing witness and thank you for doing so.

With the overhang the top should be 36". 12 " overhang
You do need enough room to walk normally between the fridge and the island. To have to turn sideways will become a pain in the you know what quickly. And can you get rid of the wall by between the pantry door and the other door and be completely open concept? Just leave room to walk around the island. I love the table and chairs I have in my kitchen but it makes for a difficult layout. So I may end up donating the table and chairs and getting something to put against the wall. This table is never used. It’s just pretty. And I get the “advice” from people “well if you lose weight things won’t be so hard to walk around”. Even if I do manage to lose weight that’s a several year process. Y’all are doing such a great job on making your dream home.

An idea for the future - it seems the fridge stands to be the issue when you move and adjust and all the fun kitchen things. We need to be fluffy inclusive in our kitchen, so when our fridge died, we got one that was counter depth and didn't have handles. That gave us a bigger pass thru between the fridge and the end of our u-shaped counter.

We have a counter depth fridge but it makes the fridge smaller. With your big family I wouldn’t recommend it.

@fearfullycreated Home Depot. It's Haier brand and was about $1000. I'm sure there are other options and maybe even better prices, but we had 2 fridges die in a month. Ours is the faux stainless steel. I also have a family of six and it has worked well for us - the difference is my kids are 2 adult-aged, 2 elementary aged. ❤

I absolutely love your videos! They are the highlight of my days when they come out! The entire time you were showing the supplies for painting your countertops I was noticing you have the most beautiful fingernails!
Merina you need too make countertops a side job! You out done yourself on this counter top it’s STUNNING!! I’ve seen others on this app do this and I promise you that your work is INCREDIBLE!! When I was a teenager my daddy God Rest His Sweet Soul.. He would paint our walls now mind you he was an artist director for movie 🎥 companies.. He would take paint the walls and then go in after it dried and take a different color with a feather duster or a sponge and go all over the wall it was the coolest thing. My Mother wanted wallpaper instead of the wallpaper he done art work on the wall and it looked hands down like wallpaper and it was cheaper than wallpaper.. I want to say he started that trend because that was back in the late 70’s early 80’s.. You using the sponge&feather took me back to my childhood.. What a sweet memory!! I can’t wait to see your kitchen finished you and God are Amazing together and Shane...

Merina, a couple of weeks ago you ask for suggestions in how to stay on top of dishes and kitchen work. So please know I am not in anyway being unkind. I noticed the dishes in the sink while you were busy creating. I also know that you feel they must be clean and out of the way when you are ready to cook supper. So my humble suggestion is that you allow the children to help you out while you work. If you are afraid of them washing knives. I understand that and you could separate those but you can allow them to help you. It is summer now, and if you ask them, I bet they w😊uld enjoy helping you when you are busy making home a better place. Whether you or Shane make supper that night, it is always nice to find the dish or pan you need clean and put away. Just a way to stay on top of things when you are really busy and it's to hot for the kidos to go outside.

I have granite counters but they’re very dark, blk & brown. I would love to paint mine to look like marble but I’m terrified. Gosh I wish I had your hand. Like I said phenomenally gorgeous ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Im still watching the video but I wanted to tell you that i have epoxy counters in my kitchen. I love them but the stain EASY!!! Make sure to wipe up spills as soon as possible. If you have a spill that set in, spray dawn powerwash on it and let it sit for a few minutes. ❤️ Ok, back to the video! 😊
