Love these videos. I've fly fished some for sunfish and bass, started trying to catch trout in Colorado and Arkansas and can't catch one, flies, spinners, trout magnet, doesn't matter, never have caught one. But seeing these videos makes me want to start tying flies and keep trying
Thanks! Tying is a great addiction and this is one of my go to summer caddis patterns. Keep at it! Once you get that first one, everything starts to make sense and you'll be getting into them consistently in no time.
@@TroutFlies Nymph. I haven't gotten my dry fly treatment in yet haha. We fished with corn and salmon eggs alllll day on spinning tackle and I finally said forget it and grabbed the fly rod.
Really like your channel. Thanks for taking the time to show us your stuff. I tie this fly a with a different twist. For the collar I use black straggle string. Not sure if it makes a difference but - who knows? The fish aren't talking.
Honestly, any summertime video where I'm nymphing this is probably tied on. It's my caddis confidence nymph. Especially on the Provo. Here is one that comes to mind where I specifically mention it though. th-cam.com/video/pn-mpa5Egrk/w-d-xo.html
They're all the same materials, just different colors of SLF/Ice Dub, wire, scud back and antron. For Tan I used tan ice dub for the body and peacock black for the thorax, tan scudback, cream antron, and brown UTC small wire.
@@TroutFlies Just found your channel and I must say that you're skill is enviable and your ties quite elegant. Thanks for sharing your work and kudos to you! I must say regarding the bloke that tried to bully you regarding your voice, that it is evident that trolls stalk even at this level. How pathetic and pitiful that some individuals have nothing else to do with their time and relish in their rudeness!
@@chuloco5577 Thanks for the kind words. Theres always gonna be that guy, it's youtube. There is plenty more supportive people than assholes around here so I'm lucky in that regard.
Wow I love this pattern. Has a natural look with so many synthetic materials. Thanks man!
Awesome...thanks for showing us! Look forward to your next video.

Love that pattern! Nice nymph, I would use it!!
Great video. Thanks
Great info.....like that you show tying skills and fishing! Which vice are you using now??
I'm on a renzetti traveler now.
@@TroutFlies thanks
what size hook is that on? are these good to make on size 6 or 8 for bigger fish or better off with wooly bugger?
I tie them from 12-16. I fish the 12 the most as they match our bugs out this way the best.

Mines pretty much just a flashier take on a Barr's Net builder. Anything somewhere close to it will fish well!
Would like to see the video of you catching a fish on this fly

Can you please remake this video and explain the different color combinations
