I like to dead drift with or without indicator fly. Drop them in front of rocks and go around them. Close to vegetated deep banks etc. if you have nice floaty indicator go around rocks in a stream, it will pull the pupa and then give slack to leader and let the pupa tumble and roll in the fishes fov. thats what i think anyways....
