As a Chargers fan, the Lions are the team I watch when I just cant with my own team, so I think theyre pretty great

For those saying our defense is terrible. We are hurt on defense. Before Seattle we held all teams to 20 or under. Lions offense finally has gotten better.
Our defense was fine vs Seattle. We were up 2 TD's most of the game...when we needed stops we got them. Our offense is elite, elite so our defense just needs to be solid which it is.
And as you point out once we get Branch back who's our 2nd best defender behind Hutchinson we may be a very good defense.
Arnold PI I'm not mad at he's a rookie getting reps and learning. I love our defense so far.
The real game changer in the lions being good now is Shelia Ford taking over the ownership of the team. He late father could have done what she did with the Stafford trade with Barry Sanders when they're was a deal on the table with Washington or with Calvin Johnson when there was serious interest from the Falcons but his ego was more important than building the team.
ALL of this!! William Henry Ford had an ego that he refused to admit he didn't know what the hell he was doing!! He didn't want to look like an idiot, but too bad so sad, he did!! Martha Ford had no idea at all what she was doing and never thought to ask for help in building the team! Sheila however, the first thing she did was ask for help from people who KNOW what the hell they're doing and said "Here! This is your show! Build a winning team!!" And now look at us!!

Lions have a lot of youth and new players in the secondary.
I think once mid season hits, no one will want to play the Lions as they get everything clicking.
They still have to end the curse by winning it all. The nfc is full of competition with the Niners, Eagles, Hawks, Vikings, Cowboys.

Were injuried. Prior to the injuries held all 3 teams to under 20 points.
If you actually watched the games and didn’t just look at box scores, you would see that the secondary is actually MUCH better than last year. The 2 games they allowed a lot of yards, it was against over 50 attempts each time, and the ypa was only about 6.5 & 7 which is around league average. And they were without their #1 player in the secondary the 2nd game.

I mean I know Seattle had a lot of points,but for most of that game there defense did do pretty good
We don’t have quite as many glaring issues on defense as we did before. We have young talent taking over CB roles that have growing pains to work on to quit getting penalties. Anything is better than Sutton lol. We still can’t seem to secure tackles for people running behind line of scrimmage, especially sacking the damn QB when they scramble, Hutch is doing FANTASTIC but he’s only one guy. We still need to correct ourselves in 2nd halves cause whatever reason, we suck eggs 3rd Quarter and then possibly bounce back in 4th. Why we lost to San Fran? 3rd and losing 27 unanswered points if I recall correctly
