What a beautiful rendition of this piece - delicate and precise and I actually loved the expressiveness of Fournel. Mozart was the master of the piano concerto form and a number of the 2nd movements end with stunning minor chord gentle interplays between orchestra and piano usually with delicate single note runs. Magnificent!

Une bien belle version qui nous mène au delà d'un simple concours. M. Fournel me convainc par son phrasé très clair mais déjà plus du tout académique, une sensibilité qui ne demande qu'à s'amplifier. S'il ne se fait pas gâcher par un système français de show-business assez écoeurant et qu'il ait le cran d'y résister il sera fêté partout ailleurs que dans l'hexagone comme un des plus grands. Il n'aura même pas à se heurter à la suprématie technique d'autres pianistes du monde entier qui jouent comme des juke-box. Il a pour lui l'atout du coeur et du sentiment, un tout petit peu de sang Mozartien coule dans ses veines et aucune école ni aucun professeur n'aura pu lui donner ce cadeau, il le doit à lui-même. Pour finir il faudra résister à la folie ambiante de tout accélérer comme ce troisième mouvement saccagé par le tempo infernal et destructeur imposé par ce chef d'orchestre stupide qui ferait mieux de boire de la verveine. Le jeune Jonathan s'en sortira avec les honneurs même si les erreurs pleuvent et que Mozart s'est éloigné depuis longtemps, horrifié.
N’est-ce pas le pianiste qui commence le mouvement et donne son tempo, l’orchestre suit ?
Là vous parlez de pianistes confirmés et qui ont déjà fait leurs preuves, et qui, du coup, peuvent avoir leur mot à dire... Ce serait nier les répétitions préalables et les frictions qui en découlent... @@LADYSTYLEE7

The pianist facial expressions are so exaggerated the filming producer changed from frontal shots to side profile and hand shots, it was distracting and unnecessary all his facial mannerisms
