      The plague one isn’t really a bug at all though, that’s just how velocity works.
      Most of these complaints about duration aren’t valid either. When you get a duration add-on, the duration/cooldown proportion is constant regardless of how much of that duration you use.
      They need to buff power-recovery add-ons to have a better duration/recovery time ratio than the duration add-ons because the duration add-ons will inherently give more flexibility.

    As a Blight main, I can confirm that the Rose Tonic does still give a speed boost. It's not very noticeable out in the open, but it is extremely noticable when trying to shimmy through a door after bumping on the frame, especially when running Killer Shack.

    I actually really like the plague one, its similar to projectile motion irl. The reason it travels further is that gravity is NOT affected by the addon. firing dead ahead its flight time is the same, but firing at an upward arc makes it go further up into the air, meaning it takes longer to fall to the ground.

      Yes, but I think the point is that this should be added to the add-on explanation, since it would make it more consistent with actual gameplay/strategy and also help newer players understand the add-ons better.

    Myers actually has 1 addon that has a very niche bug advantage.
    The addon that increases stalk amount against the obsession.
    If you stalk normally a survivor but there's 2 or more of them, you don't stalk faster but the "stalk juice" on survs is spread equally so that its more profittable. That's not the case for the obsession addon, if the obsession + other survs are being stalked YOU GET the bonus stalk but the "stalk juice" is still spread. Meaning that even if the obsession has 0% stalk juice as long as they are near other survs you get the addon to work

    Dbd biggest bug is the fact they won't buff killers that need it the most and rework add ons for killers.

    The problem with Bubba's duration add-ons isn't explained well here. He's coded so that he reaches regular speed after something like 33% of the bar, and his maximum speed after reaching something like 66% (I don't know the exact numbers, so someone please correct this) of his bar once a sprint starts. The Chilis increase the bar, so reaching a third/two thirds takes longer, but then you still have two more extended bars at that top speed. But the real issue is the Iri, which doesn't automatically use all the charges as it says it does, but replaces the three bars with a single bar. So instead of having 3 bars of 2 seconds each, he has one bar of 6 seconds, but all the other rules are still in place. ie It still takes 66% of the bar to reach top speed, which means it now takes three times as long to do so, and you only get a second or two at that top speed.
    The fix is painfully simple; make charges be automatically used instead of replacing the bar like that.

      That's a great explanation, but keep in mind that the Iri Carb Guide did NOT use to work like this, so it must have become bugged at some point with some other change.

      @ArcArc & @@notOtzdarva According to wiki, its 60%. To simplify the term "curve" it relates to acceleration. Since he uses the cubic curve, his speed accelerates between 2 points. Intial--> max--> decelerate. Tuning guide gives an extra .5 sec to the 6 seconds it automatically consumes. Since it goes by that 6.5 second bar and not by 1 charge, it takes longer to reach that 60%. Base kit it would take .8 sec to go from 0 m/s -----> 5.29 m/s (132.25%). But with the Tuning guide it would take almost 4 seconds (really 3.9) to go from 0 m/s -----> 5.1842 m/s (129.605%). If they didn't add the drawbacks, it would take 3.6 seconds to go from 0 m/s -----> 5.29 m/s ................ In other words, this add-on does nearly no-to worse changes to your power??????
      I'm not sure what you mean when you say that the addon didn't use to work this way. So I'm assuming you're referencing past updates.
      During the 4.1.0 patch, Tuning guide was -4%. Great, more math. 132.25% * 96% = 12696 or 126.96% (5.0784 m/s). So it would've taken 3.6 second to go from 0 m/s -----> 5.0784.
      Now let's find out how long it takes to reach 100% speed
      Base. (0.8 sec / 5.29 m/s) * 4.0 m/s = 0.60 sec 0 m/s -----> 4.0 m/s
      Current Tuning Guide. (3.6 sec / 5.1842 m/s) * 4.0 m/s = 2.778 sec 0 m/s -----> 4.0 m/s
      Old Tuning Guide. (3.6 sec / 5.0784 m/s) * 4.0 m/s = 2.836 sec 0 m/s -----> 4.0 m/s
      It seems to be worse than it was before. Maybe what it was, WAS the bug???? Who knows, these devs are strange.

    The air fresher addon for dredge used to be bugged. When you teleported to a remenant or exited a locker, you instead of loosing all charges lost only 3. So that means with 4 charges you could teleport to your remenant and still have 1 charge left to use. It doesn't work with teleporting to lockers because you lose 1 token each time you teleport, so when you teleport you already have 3 and lose all of them after exiting a locker. They patched it quickly but it was fun until it lasted.

    Actually nemesis foes have a somewhat similar issue like some other killers: all of his zombies add ons have the side effect of making you wanna cry. Unlike with clown though, this is pretty noticeable

      I've felt that pain when playing Nemi, but I'm a huge believer that his zombies often do way more than you think, there's just little-to-no feedback. There have been countless times as Survivor when I've had to abandon a generator, take a longer route to a hook, or just had to move from a hiding place because a zombie happened to be in the way. A lot of the time, the zombie never even saw me, but the threat of its presence was enough for me to have to change my plans.
      The most noticeable zombie add-on I've seen is the one that gives them the insane speed boost. Holy crap, that one makes me shit my pants sometimes! It has also forced me to _run_ away from them on multiple occasions rather than simply walking and looping them around a rock or something.

      @@irregularassassin6380 Their definitely not as good as they should be but they do a lot more work than I think most people notice for sure. I typically use them as info pools because of the aura read on them. Speed addons like you said also make it easy for them to create pressure simply by existing and being just fast enough to force survivors off gens. You can also "guide" them a little with noise notifications but it's harder to do as that typically requires survivors to miss checks and junk.
      One other thing they do well if they happen to be in the right spot is pincer attack at like pallets resulting in a free hit on either side or even the dreaded zombie double hit down.

      @@Bannith Man, I got pincered by Nemi and a Zombo who hit me at the same time. It was shockingly, and brutally, effective.
      Yes, guiding Zombies with noise notifications is great, which is why I almost always run Discordance on Nemi. The survivors have no idea that they've just become a very tasty snack for any nearby Zombies, in addition to notifying Nemi of their location! Such a good perk on him.

    The problem with Map of the Realm (the Knight addon), is it is much like Nemesis' Marvin's blood (increases mutation rate on hitting survivors). It feels necessary for the power to hold together. Due to this, people will more often than not run this addon, and like Marvin's blood, it will be nerfed slightly, because the stats say that this addon is overperforming when it should be made basekit

    Nemesis has this busted add-on called Licker Tongue - it increases the hindered on survivors when you hit them with tentacle so much, that they can't even tell that you have that add-on, which makes it a secret for an entire match and leaves them guessing what add-ons you are running while also giving you the secret op benefit of making survivors slower and when they finally teabag you, you catch up ~0.15 seconds sooner and it can be the difference of getting a down or not!!!

      Its funny how I play almost every bugged killer in dbd. Bubba, Spirit, Knight with all of their bug being game-changing. so in order for killer to be viable, they need to be bugged. if they are balanced with 0 bugs, then they suck. shows how bad dbd's base-kit killer balance is.

      @@lord_nem3sis Not even then. It takes the guard 1.5s to materialize, followed by 1s for the detection range to expand, so 2.5s total. That's 10m the survivors can run in the time it takes carnifex and assassin to reach 8m detection range. So as long as the survivor holds W, they literally cannot be detected even if you put the guard on top of the survivor.

    The plague one makes sense. If something has a higher velocity at the same angle, then it will go further. Would be more of a bug if it didn't do that.

      The killers are only seen as "ineffective", because the strongest killers in game tend to have the strongest addons and are the most forgiving for some reason, removing these factors or reworking weaker killers to have similar strong addons and noob mechanics, would make the game a lot more healthy.

      @@fatmansnacks4938 That seems a bit OP, I think it would be enough to give Legion a glock18 with two magazines. Trapper can get maybe a antipersonell mine that blows away a leg from a survivor that steps on it (they die within 2 minutes from bloodloss).

    This is a great video as usual Otz! Map of the realm is the one addon that I will always use on Knight as it fixes that issue you mentioned, placing guards on top of survivors and them not getting hunted was infuriating

All videos that I watch here on TH-cam the volume is always fine and sometimes even a bit loud and I have to decrease it, but yours videos are always the opposite, I have to increase my computer overall volume to hear you better!     one thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that some of these killers (spirit, legion, etc) cannot use their power unless it is fully charged. so without this bug, it would mean that it would actually take *longer* before you're able to use your power. like imagine if bubba's chili made his charges replenish slower, that'd just feel awful to play with

      With legion, extra duration is useful, but spirit's duration addons would be useless, imagine having to wait 20s to use your power as a 4.4m/s killer

      @@Teroo1234 It would be a tradeoff, though, and arguably a beneficial one for you. The recovery would be the same if you don't phase for longer than the standard distance, but if you need to phase for longer, you would then have the option to, at the expense of a longer recovery afterward.
      Plus, you could always take one duration and one recovery add-on to ameliorate the longer recovery.

    The plague one actually makes sense, since the vomit has actual physics instead of just being an animation. Faster projectiles go further, it's common sense. Same with the addon that increases the Huntress' hatchet speed.

    I'd guess that the code is just restoring a percent of the duration bar as opposed to making a the bar say 100 "charges" while restoring x "charges" per second. This simple switch would let them separate having 150 charges or restoring x+1 per second.

      Its definately related to charges. Back in the early days of DBD, the killer was able to 'drop' their power like how a survivor can drop their item. Killer powers are coded the exact same way as survivor items. Its obviously a bug in how the game defines "charges" when its dealing with a 'killer item' i.e their power.
      Also if anyone is wondering - yes other killers (which could be bugged into the same lobby) where able to 'pick up' the killer power, and sometimes use it very brokenly. I remember seeing a Wraith (or maybe it was a Myers..) with Billy's chainsaw. And they could use it with some glitchy animation interactions.

    How about Sadako's yellow add-on "Clump of Hair?" I am not sure, but in the description, it said that it reduces the range of killer visibility from a survivor's POV while demanifested from 24 meters down to 18 meters. However, when I played against this add-on with the visual terror radius active, for some reason, the lullaby distance is also affected, reducing its distance in the same way. Also, Bubba's add-on "Light Chassis" allows you to ping a wallhack on survivors by spam tapping the M2. Can you confirm these myths in another video?
    Additionally, the mirror fragments of Michael Myers reveals survivors initially after a set stalking period at a given tier for a given time, but stops revealing them when their outlines turned red. Plus, the Hag's pink Mint Rag add-on incurs no teleport cooldown when teleporting to a triggered trap at infinite distance. As for the Doctor, his "Discipline" add-ons decrease the detonation delay, but they also have the hidden side effect of shortening the window where the survivor can't interact with anything, which is odd I guess?

    For the Skull Merchant, the stereo mic addon increase the duration of the unhackable state of the drones but it also increases the speed of survivors DCing from the game.

    An addon of Myers does something extra, even though it is because of the timing: If you play the tombstone piece and wait for your t3 to almost run out before using the mori, you will keep much more of your ability compared to using it instantly. I didn't test it for a long time but it used to work.

    If the Oni loses a flat amount of blood meter on a down, then the durration addon should function correctly, unless picking up blood orbs is a percentage and not a flat amount. but if picking up blood orbs is a flat amout, you need the same amount of blood orbs to get your power back, with or without the addon, even if it looks like you need less blood with the addon.
    but sure, if picking up blood is a precentage, then its as you described.

    I believe there’s a case with Blight using Adrenaline Vial and the iridescent add on that lets you instabreak pallets. Basically causes your power to already be recharged by the time the stun of breaking the pallet is over.

      His map pressure is insane if you know how to play him effectively and the multitasking utility of his guards make him very efficient in a myriad of scenarios. Plus one of his iridescents damn near guarantees an extra kill for free in endgame and the other iridescent gives him god tier camping and playmaking potential.
      But even without those he's just solid. To do bad as Knight you either have to roll a dogshit map against a sweat team wich applies to every killer or you're just uncreative and use his power in the most braindead ways possible.

    As someone who started playing DBD as the Spirit, after my first few dozen hours or so of playing her exclusively, my experience with other killer's add-ons were axactly as you said. Confusing! Not only that they were so powerful, confusing that, yes, you can FEEL the difference duration add ons make compared to every other killer. With the fact that her power is powerful on its own, it definitely took some time to acclimate to what feels like an entirely different approach to game balance for basically every other killer below her in power level.

    It seemed to me like BHVR initially intended for the game mechanics to be obscure (eg buffs being described in vague terms like "significantly")
    Which is weird when you think about the matchmaking pivot which seemed to be going in a competitive direction
    I remember thinking Insidious made you invisible which is not the case at all (haha!) so I don't really think keeping things general helps even new players.

    Blights slam duration add-ons definitely still affect the speed you get during slam duration. Biggest example is you can line up a hug tech twice as fast.

I would always wait till end game to see perks/add on/abilities for what I thought were the sus hacks like speed or timing of ability could possibly explain but would never see any descirption of so. Now I know to not report for these killers with these add ons.

    So this is super minor but the Huntress's Rose Root is going to have the same effect as the Plague's Vile Emetic. The reason that the Plagues puke goes farther is the downward velocity of gravity is the same while the puke moves forward faster and is easy to see with the plague because of the normal slow speed of the puke. But the huntress's hatchets also go in an arc formation and the speed will also increase the distance a hatchet will go at a specific angle, held for a specific time.

    This is such a fascinating bug, especially because of how simple it seems to have cropped up due to a lack of distinction between "cooldown" based powers, versus "regeneration" based powers.
    By that I mean, powers which require their cooldown to be up before using again, versus powers that you can use at any time as long as you have enough bar for them.
    "Usually", games that use cooldowns don't care how much of your power you use, the cooldown doesn't change. But DBD seems to have cooldowns change "on the fly" based on how much of the power you use. While games with some kind of "mana bar" limit you using your ability purely on the bar and can be spammed at will.
    From a logic standpoint, this bug seems to be what happens when you try to make the same system use both methods. Killers with powers that can be spammed get greater recovery, and those that have to wait for a full charge get greater profit off of using their ability in short bursts (which is easier because of distance/duration increases).

    I’m hoping the pinhead bug is on here. Maybe it’s intentional but after possessing a chain you cannot break pallets or vault walls for a good few seconds. It’s just really annoying because if they predrop a pallet you can’t do anything.

    The further faster thing from the plague I also believe works with the fingerless gloves addon from the clown. It seems to go significantly further while also hitting the spot 25% faster. While the addon only says 25% thrown speed and 15 degrees angle. Not sure if that ones intentional or not but I thought it worth mentioning.

    Another way to explain is (unfortunately) math: the equation to find distance is d=rt, with r being the rate it's moving at, and t being the amount of time. Since the speed (or the rate) is the problem, if we want to find it, just divide t to the other side and it's (d/t)=r. What the add-ons do is increase the distance while keeping the same time, creating a bigger, aka faster, rate.

    trapper add-on " The 1 will activate a random trap without the need of the trapper to set it up" also have a hidden effect. When a survival think the trap were deactivate but then it randomly activate back on in the middle of the loop and if they step on it, the trap will give survival emotional damage. I didn't see that description anywhere in the add on so it has to be a hidden effect.

    The Spirit one is pretty understandable, the Knight one should be basekit. It makes no sense for you to not be able to see the survivors and even though you had the skill to place the guard at the survivor's feet, the guard just doesn't trigger because they held down W.

    depressing billy fact: something that was patched around idk 2021 or 2022,hillbilly by using double engravings had a movement speed boost after he had that chainsaw cooldown after missing (only missing, it didnt work on bumping or hitting a survivor), so that it could help you to barely get an m1 hit on some loops BUT it was patched, i really dont know if it is a shadow nerf or it was said because i havent played in a while

    The term is "linear interpolation." It works pretty much exactly like your car situation. Something is animated along a line and it's position is calculated on the percentage of time elapsed compared to the intended duration. They would need to do a little more math to make sure speed stays constant across different distances. Simply make distance and duration correlated. The recharge time would have to be solved by slowing down the recharge proportionate to the added duration.
    It's weird that they have these math bugs when so many things are based on a charge system that should easily be able to handle something like this. Although it also means you have to do math any time you want to translate speed to charges per second.
    Also, the audio was very quiet, I could hardly hear it. I had to turn off all other sounds so I could crank my volume really high.

    there is also a dredge bug when you use the 4 token addon (I think it's called air freshener or something) if you teleport to the remnant, instead of your tokens resetting after the cool down, you will be left with a single token. you won't get your tokens back until you teleport once and then you'll get all 4 back. I've reported this to bhvr a couple of times but it's still a broken addon.

    in some of these, like knight, i thing that solution is to simply add the extra effect to the addon info. since knight REALLY needs map of the realm to play more or less ok. maybe the area should already be the area that map of the realm gives by default and map of the realm would make it so that the circle expands faster, only. same with more or less the rest of the killers, the big offender is spirit, because on her these addons are actually being used because they work the way you say, players are basically using the bug because is strong on her. on the others the bug is there but the addons arent being used because of the bug. or at least i dont think so

    Not really the same bug but I always found it interesting how trickster's throw rate addons say they decrease the amount of blades needed to reach the max throw rate, but instead just start you off with a stack or two contributing to the throw rate progression, so you end up also reaching the first throw rate increase faster as well

    I always assumed the Vile Emetic was intended to make the vomit go farther since 10% isn't much of a benefit for a purple otherwise, but I remember you mentioning the other effects. Most of them I wouldn't even call an issue, UNTIL you have Duration addons being better than recovery addons at recovery. That seems like the durations should, at the simplest, be bumped up a rarity tier and have their recovery effect noted and the recoveries reworked.

    The clown spreading add on kinda seems useless, what I noticed is that the “cloud count” doesn’t change; it just spreads out more meaning there were gaps in the vape.     Regarding Oni, I usually use both purples.. the fang and the other penalty Add-on because combined they give you a really long power duration.

    it took me 2 weeks to realize this, but even survivor has a version of this bug, Flashbang and Blast mine both require gen work to be done, but working with other survivors doesnt make it faster, instead it makes it slower because if you join a survivor on a 30% gen, from 0% perk charge you wont activate flashbang or blastmine like you think you would (if im remembering right its 50% gen work to activate the perks) (repressed alliance i believe says work on gens for x seconds, so i dont count it)

    I vaguely remember warframe having a similar issue with duration not just extending time of power and indirectly the efficiency but as a side effect of similar code issues also directly boosting efficiency stats while efficiency mods couldn't compete without the same bug.

    Actually its affect blight too! Recently was playng with addon which gives you 2 additional charges and noticed that after breaking pallets with ability recharge was fast enough to rush again after breaking pallets so i think ability have certain time to recharge no matter have much rushes you have, because of it 2/7 rushes recharging noticeably faster than 2/5

    I think the problem is that they coded power capacity instead of duration. Especially with oni, I think his problem is the duration increases the capacity of his power and blood orbs always increase by a percentage while downs decrease by a flat amount. It's probably made that duration gives him more blood capacity which is why when using an addon to increase duration also seems to decrease the amount of power he loses because he has more power gauge. This can be fixed by making downs also remove a percentage, he will lose the same amount as a non-addon oni and regain it just as fast, but duration addons will work as intended, allowing the oni more time in his power. The alternative is relabel the duration addons and blood capacity increases and changing blood orbs to a flat amount, this change will require more blood to fill his power but will also have the intended effect of increasing duration and the amount of downs he can do during a single activation of his power since he will have a larger power gauge.

    The plague example seems to make perfect logical sense to me. If it says it increases the velocity of a projectile I would expect that projectile to travel a farther trajectory. That is what happens when you increase the velocity of a projectile..

    Huntress does have an add-on with a bug, I'm honestly not sure why people aren't talking about it. When you equip Iridescent Head add-on, survivors are 75% more likely to disconnect. It doesn't mention anything in the description of the add-on about disconnects.
