    My first though when i started shopping was that i didnt know how to tell the difference between a real commercial grade rental tent and a "commercial grade" party tent that you can get from amazon. Exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for listing some brands

    Went ahead a bought a few tents today from the rental company that went under around me. Got 4 of the 20x20's (2 with 12' center poles and 2 with 14' ones), 2 of the 20x40's, 1 of the 30x30's, 1 of the 10x10's frame tents, a few easy ups, and last but not least a 40x100'. Can't wait to get everything out, cleaned and set-up.

      Awesome! Magic erasers work best and diluted purple power. Do something to mark the different 20x20 poles and tent bags - it’s a bummer when you or an employee bring the wrong pole.

    • @thetentguy
      @thetentguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They make tents to be compatible or look like other companies. If you’re just getting tents fir the first time, you can go with any. Probably the 1200 series. If you’re trying to match your current inventory, call and ask them what series is best.

  • @gregsteller8074

    How much heavier is a large tent top to move than a smaller tent? Say a 40x100 vs 20x40. Do you need more people to move and set-up a larger tent or can the same number of people do it in just a longer period of time?

    • @thetentguy
      @thetentguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Large tent tops like a 40x100 actually come in sections that lace up. Each section is approximately 20x40. It’s much heavier than a 20x40 though. You need a hand truck for sure. You need at least 3 guys for a 40x100 and just the top will take a few hours to put up, not including the sides, lights, tables, chairs, etc... a 20x40 can be done with one guy, it’s not fun, but can be done. 3 guys on a 20x40 can take less than 30 minutes.

    I have 2 commercial 20x20 tent tops then it took me 3 more years to find the poles from a rental place going out of business - I still have to find stakes and buy straps - how do I find out how to put one up ? Center pole then one on each corner then one in between. I think 11 poles in all ? What do you think about rebar for stakes ? Thank you for your videos

    • @thetentguy

    Just saw this video and answer my question i left on your new video. I have the junk tents for 3 years they all are still fine some poles get bend from heavy winds. Me and my dad can set one up in 10-15 min and we bought some thicker heavy poles to use on windy days. Going to use look into getting the better tent we rent in south CA so we dont get rain as often and but water does Get on the sides and makes water pockets

    Good Morning! Thank you for sharing.🥰🥰🥰 I am a partyplanner and I've been thinking about having a party venue in our yard only for the spring and summer months. We need a durable and a pretty look for a tent. Because the tent is going to be the venue. Which means it is going to stay up all the time. We need something that will fit 5 tables that sit 6ppl (35ppl) dessert-table and protect from rain or too much sun. Also would love to drape the tent. Can you help? We live in Long Island NY. Not sure where your located but can advise.

    • @thetentguy

    Omg! I need your help. I have a client that rents my 10x20 pop up tents for social events. He just reached out to me asking if I had ten 10x10 tents for him and other vendors for a city festival at the end of the month. Their tent vendor rented their tents to someone else and they tried everywhere but everyone has rented theirs out. Where and how do I get a certified tent and do I have to have the tent certified or does it come certified?

    • @thetentguy
      @thetentguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By certified, I assume they need a flame certificate. Pop ups won’t come with that, Only from a commercial tent manufacture.
      You can check with some of the pop of vendors if they can provide that. But….if you don’t foresee ten 10x10’s going out all the time, I might pass on the job. Big investment for just one event.

      @@thetentguy Thank you so much. Good point. I don't want to put out money that may take me a while to get back. There is a company here that closed shop that rented tents to these vendors. He sold me his folded chairs. I wonder if it would be a good idea to offer him money for his email and telephone list to his customers. He has been renting for 20 years. He said he is done and retiring so he sold his rental items.

    • @thetentguy
      @thetentguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Always annoying! I would put the full price on the contract showing a 25% discount so they can see the deal. If you just give the deal without showing, they’ll ask for more.
      If you can foresee them being annoying, I might drop the tables and chairs in half.
