    *IMPORTANT*
    1- Please remember that the tones you hear are at bedroom level, so bedroom level that you can hear strings more than the amp itself on camera mic.
    2- P.U.L.S.E. Sorrow DOES NOT HAVE flanger, it's chorus, i made a mistake in the editing :) i repeat, it's CHORUS, NOT FLANGER for PULSE big muff
    3- Signal Chain: MXR Dynacomp Mini -> MXR Custom Shop 74 Reissue Phaser -> EHX Green Russian Big Muff -> Boss BD-2 -> JHS Charlie Brown v4 -> Mooer Eleclady -> TC Flashback 2 -> Mooer Chorus -> Boss RT-20
    alternative pedals i showed: Mooer Black Secret - Wampler plexi drive deluxe - EHX Ram's Head

      The versions of "Sorrow" heard on Pulse, Momentary Lapse, and Delicate Sound all feature a CE-2 (i think 2 CE-2S for Pulse) *and* his Yamaha Rotary. You can really hear the Yamaha during the intro and outro sections

      It’s wonderful, especially for the price.
      The best bang for my Buck pedal, that I’ve come across in years, is the Doublemoon from Mad Professor. It’s an analog multi effect. It does everything from Boss Ce-1 or 2 tones, almost the Dimension Chorus, then it also has legit Flanger capability, with ability to get that Electric Mistress brightness, most look for, as well as work to get a really nice rotary sound and a Vibrato, like a Boss VB-2 with ability to change the wave shape.
      The flanger is what really surprised me, with the Chorus sounding pretty close to the one I wanted, but I’ve had fun using every setting.
      Check it out. It’s a legit analog pedal with great sound. It also has Flange/Chorus combos that are great.

      @@CorbCorbin my best bang for the buck, a Joyo Aquarius Delay. Solid Digital, Analog, Tape, or Tube delays. Some mod delays. Mostly though, it has the best sounding reverse delay I’ve come across and I have a good handful of delay pedals from Boss, TC Electronics, MXR, Line6, etc.
      Can’t take it off my board and it was 40 bucks.

    I think I basically accidented onto a similar setup. I really like multi-taskers, so I ended up with a Phase 95, which has the 90 script setting built in, the Boss Angry Driver, which is a Blues Driver combined with a JHS Angry Charlie. I have a Zoom MS70 which has a bunch of delay options, including a tape delay, as well as a ton of reverbs (I use the spring reverb for Gilmour stuff) and a Keeley Moon fuzz, which isn't too far from the Green Russian. The one thing I am missing is that RT-20. Maybe someday.

  • @simon_patterson
    @simon_patterson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is very cool, although lacks a little polish with the visuals on the pedals. I suggest you re-shoot any image(s) with the correct settings on the pedals to avoid the need to put up text saying the settings are wrong, correct the chorus vs flanger problem that your pinned comment mentions, and also add the names of the pedals as text on the video so people can read what pedals you're using, each time you show a visual of those pedals.
    It's a little fiddly work but worth the update and re-upload, I reckon, to provide longevity for this great video. Cheers.

    • @mustyguitar
      @mustyguitar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Boss sd-1 is very much different that any pedal you've listed. it doesn't mean you can't use it for gilmour tones, watch this video: th-cam.com/video/guKVdemNxnM/w-d-xo.html
      it's a high gain tube screamer type pedal. which means a lot of mid boost when you stomp on it. bd-2 is a transistor based pedal, very flat around the eq board and charlie brown is just jtm45 type transistor pedal.
      I have no experience with mooer's blues mood, but considering I use a few mooer pedal and they sound great, blues mood can do a nice job too.

If you could give me a list with the order of pedals in which to get that would be very helpful. Thanks.

      i actually have 2 power supplies, one underneath the board. it's fuel tank junior.

    Hello! I have the following pedals: Bd2, Plexidrive, BB preamp... Which one would you use for clean boost and which one for overdrive? TKS!

    • @mustyguitar
      @mustyguitar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      depends on what kind of tone you want, personally I would use bd-2 for clean boost and overdrive, but if you want "tube driver" tones instead of harsher "powerbooster" tones like you hear around 1975 bootlegs, you could go for bd-2 as clean boost and plexi-drive as overdrive.
      not gonna lie, bb preamp is an amazing good pedal that I don't own... I'm ashamed of myself... that could work both ways too.
      I'm gonna make a video, comparing bd-2 and plexi-drive. it's on my list and i'll update this video as well. so watch out!

      @@mustyguitar Thanks for the answer... I'm looking for the tone of the PULSE era, but since I don't have the charlie brow I thought about which of the pedals I have could replace it... what do you think?

    • @mustyguitar

      @@gustavocheccoli8670 charlie brown is what "I" use, what I find that works for me, same pedal might not work for you, but I know for a fact that bb preamp is pretty close to it. they are pretty much trying to get the same job done.

    Pedalboard ok! I would advise you to try the Mooer yellow comp instead of the mxr.

    • @mustyguitar
      @mustyguitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have it, i've used it a lot and still use it on some of the tones i want with mxr, double compression i mean, it's great pedal and probably the best pedal for it's budget.
      it's funny, aussie floyd's guitarist suggested it to me years back :))

    If you like Mooer pedals check out the Soul Shiver. It is a chorus, a vibe and a rotary all in one very affordable pedal. And it sounds good, too.

    • @mustyguitar
      @mustyguitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mooer has some of the best budget pedals out there. I rarely use chorus, vibe or flanger though, my thing is mostly some rotary or phase or no modulation at all... I'm all about 1977 and 2006 tones :)

    • @larsfocken3456
      @larsfocken3456 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mustyguitar Personally I use chorus as a modulation effekt almost exclusively because I like the organ-like tone that Mike Stern has when he plays jazz comping. For this I use the TC corona chorus pedal. However when someone is looking for a very versatile and inexpensive modulation device I highly recommend the Soul Shiver. Thank you for this interesting and helpful video and for your reply 🙂

    Thank you for your efforts in guidance of how and what pedals can work for Davids tone. Will you or do you have any videos of guidance to David Gilmours tone in his solo album of 1978. Raise your rent in particular has an outstanding solo, but im having such a hard time getting his tone from that song or album. I even have that RA200 Yamaha rotating speaker, but still im struggling. Maybe its my pickups I don't know..

    The tones are very good, your playing is very good, maybe jus lighten up on the use of the whammy. Gilmour uses it but, so subtly as a tool n accent at very choice spots. You'll be scary close : ) Well done

    What is the purpose of a pedal? Do they all do different things?

    • @mustyguitar

      Exactly. There are mainly 9-10 pedal types, all of them do different jobs for certain sounds. Think of your amp as a paper and these are the colors, all do different jobs.
