    I think the best part about these old clocks, is that theyre serviceable. Everything nowadays is disposable.

    I went to the automotive parts store and bought clear urethane spray protective coating for car wheels. Works just as well as Lacquer...

      I believe you're asking... How heavy should your weights be?
      If so, I'd be happy to answer.
      The Weights act as batteries. The heavier the weight the more it can move and the longer it can run.
      If it's lost a very small amount of weight, it will still work. You don't want to overweight it and break or excessively damage the internals.
      If it runs fast or slow, it's down to the pendulum(long ticking thing). There will be a type of screw on the bottom that you can screw right to speed up and left to slow down.
