    I used to watch this show religiously, back when the food network was actually all about cooking and teaching people how to cook.. Mario Batali is still one of my favorites.

      Me too! I think I've watched every episode, there are a lot of them! Wish there was a way to see them all again.

      Imagine that, that a cooking channel would show people actually cooking!

    This guy has brains. Tried to explain osmosis between plant cells and the outside environment without overcomplicating it.

    Love his style , it is about the food and technique not celeberty status(back in the day).

    One of the diners says, “why wouldn’t you use a Spanish olive oil in a Tuscan dish?” And Mario, says, “cause it wouldn’t be Spanish.” Politician couldn’t have said it better.

    Back when food network was about cooking and great chefs. The lineup of chefs on there today is an absolute joke. Every single one of them.

    This show needed to be 45 minutes. Maybe 1 hour would have been too long. 30 minutes is way too short.

    The noodles look like they might be overcooked. Fresh pasta should only take 30 seconds to a minute and half tops before it's good to go. He left it in there a little longer than that. As mentioned in other episodes, it is also best to have the noodles be almost, but not fully cooked and finished in the pan. But because Mario is king and idk shit, I will stfu. Molto 4 life

      Remember this is TV cooking and he is cooking, teaching about more than just the meal he is making, and he is entertaining guests. He only has 22-24 minutes to show a solid hour worth of cooking so he is bound to leave something a bit too long. Things on TV have to be exaggerated and focusing on the exact timing is not conducive to a good cooking show. Overcooked is subjective when it comes to pasta as some like things fully cooked. He would be moving much faster if he was simply cooking. Al dente pasta is not good in everyone's mind. Pasta, especially noodles are not limited to Italy, chances are the Chinese first created it. Being isolated, it's safe to say the Far East was not influenced by Italy. The Roman Empire was influenced greatly by the areas they controlled. But, the show is meant to show us how they do things and he does a good job at that.

    How does this channel get away with profiting from other's copyright material?

      Joseph1NJ who says this channel is profiting?

    • @vegasrenie
      @vegasrenie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      STRiZZY - You’re correct. From what I understand, the originator usually puts out some sort of copyright claim, and that’s OK. The person doesn’t get any money from it, but that’s not the reason that they put these things online to begin with. I know that because I watch several channels that have NHL games or excerpts, and they don’t get any money from those either. They do it for the love of it.
