I agree, that butcher block top is WAY too pretty to use in the shop as a workbench. It belongs in the house. My local Home Depot has some roll around tool chests which they too have pretty butcher block tops too pretty for the workshop. !
Looks like it would be good in the kitchen for rolling out dough and to use for mixers and other machines. But I would agree to another crossmember on the bottom or a shelf in the middle half as deep as the top.
I like it !! It'd make a very nice kitchen island when your busy I like it having captured nuts. Easy assembly

Good looking workstation. I agree the screws that hold the top on should be a lot longer.
