Headlight CEM Relay Repair | Volvo S40 V40

Very common problem on the s/v40 chassis, they will break eventually so even if this didn't fix my headlight doing this work was not wasteful. Turns out that my bult had shattered inside the headlight.
The Relays i bought are ''reinforced'', or rather they can handle higher voltages and more ampere so this problem should not be recurring ever.
I bought the relays from this website, it is in Swedish (use google translate) and the seller is from Sweden but it shouldn't be any problem shipping them at least inside of Europe.

Thank you very much, I had the same problem I checked the fuse was fine, I followed your instructions and when changing the relays it worked

I've got the same issue with my S40 (2006). It's BiXenon headlights but ive already changed the blub and ballast so this is my next step. Going to give it a go, I've not touched a soldering iron since school though!

Can you link or note down the two different relays you bought?
I have this issue, bulb is fine.

Omron Power Relay. Coil voltage 12V. Switching current 16A. Size WxDxH: 16.5 x 22.5 x 19 mm.
They are the same! One relay for either side. I have a link in the description for the website where i bought them from, cost 20 Euros.
Use google translate on the website!

Yes, the light bulb had shattered and therefore didn't work. I changed the lightbulb and it worked like a charm.
I was confident that the lightbulb wasn't the issue since i had replaced it about 1 year ago. But when i looked closer i saw that it had shattered as you can hear me talk about in the end of the video.
As for the installation of the new relays, they do work wonderfully and i have not had any issues. Even though the originals still worked for me, changing them out means one less problem in the future as it is a ''common'' problem on these cars.
