- With two Guitar Hero games released, players from its predecessor were quickly able to hop over to its more modern and refined title. While these players initially had the upper hand, new players would come out of the woodwork and display some of the best play and develop the most ingenuous methods in Guitar Hero's history.

Microgamer's 95% tapping video was the most important Guitar Hero video ever. I remember when that first got posted to ScoreHero and just how *lit up* everyone got at that. And then when HellAshes finally FC'd it. And to think, I was happy just getting my Log lol :)
Agreed it was the most important GH video, and getting my Log in GH2 is probably still my greatest video game achievement. Took years of effort.
As someone who got to experience a lot of this first-hand back when GH2 came out, this was a hell of a nostalgia kick. Thank you so much for compiling this all together. This was a great throwback to being 13 years old and being in awe of the people who were so much better at the game than I was.

For those coming here after the strum limit was finally discovered, the actual number was in fact 52ms. It's nice to know my results were almost on point lmao.

@@Patashu It's not made public yet, there's a team working on a special GH2 ISO with the limit removed and a custom setlist and such. The actual method to remove the strum limit will likely not be made public to avoid obvious abuse.

I knew there would be something like a *Score Progression: Jordan* video eventually...but this is even better!
I just wanna say, I've watched this video more than a few times, and there's a buncha new little details I notice here and there every time I rewatch. At 44:36, you go from HD capture footage to handcam footage, but keep the chart synced with the song playing in the background, and it's a small touch that I think is hella cool.
Can't wait for the GH3 episode!

The most amazing thing about this is that I have been the self proclaimed swedish guitar hero nerd since 2007, and I’ve NEVER heard about Skogsharald, and judging by his ScoreHero, he lives in the same town as me!!!!

We definitely need some more GH2 talk. You could easily make another video on the rise of GH2 customs alone, let alone the other stuff you mentioned. Like how Misirlou on 360 went unFCed until like 2008 because of how much worse strumming is in that version.

I love how professional your vids are, especially on the old school GH games. I started playing the original in 05 when I was only 8, and I still play clone hero today. It’s so cool to still learn new things about the older games that made up my childhood. Makes me really appreciate rhythm games and their communities. Thanks for all your hard work.

It would be much harder later in the series, apparently guitar hero phenom got a FGFC of Metallica two days after the game came out, but knowing the crowd WT and after you would likely have to focus on drums too

I wish I could have seen all this unfold for myself, Guitar Hero 2 was my introduction to the series and one of the most important games for me personally. There's something wholesome about the idea of people over an old forum website uniting in the name of a co-operative video game initiative. It feels like something like this can never happen again in this day and age because people are too brought down by living in such a horrible time for the world that there's no point in bothering with something as insignificant as a video game, and that's really sad.
Never heard nor watched a video from you, but after this, I feel like I have to watch every single video you have uploaded.

Man, just seeing those old school players names, nostalgia. I didn\t start playing GH until gh3 came out, but I do remember some of these names around the 2010s. Hellashes is a legend, as are a lot of those players. A gh2 Jordan FC is pretty damn hard for anyone even today in 2022. Way harder than a CH FC. And imagine getting that FC 15 damn years ago.

This was a lot of fun. I really took for granted just how significant the hardest FCs were here, not to mention the leadup and grinding towards them. I actually still haven't even 5*'d Psychobilly Freakout or Misirlou on Expert, nor have I even passed Jordan yet. Also I think it'd be cool if you touched upon some of the co-op FCs that've been done, particularly the ones on DoofiestDoofz' channel since he and Nick (BongOfDestiny) got a bunch of 1st evers at least in that regard, and some really impressive gets in general (Push Push Lady Lightning and You Got Another Thing Comin).

that was amazing. I never thought so much competition was happening behind my first ever rhythm game (I was 11 at the time). Great documentary as always
Also surprising was how my favorite songs Jordan, Six, Trogdor, and Institutionalized was actually some of the hardest songs, when I regularly played them at Expert back then just for the tunes (obviously shit score though)

What a great compilation; nice research and it's always fun flashing back 15 years to when my skill was somewhat comported with the top players. I can almost FC Jordan now on Clone Hero >_< Institutionalized was just as you said; there was virtually no progression. Was trying to get a run FCing the first verse, and the first time that happened, the rest of the song came with it. Then HellAshes took over :p
