Really great info. Love how you give pointers on various stages of the process. Pure gold Ms. Kathryn. Thanks!
Ive always seen the bark houses and would love to attempt one, im glad i seen this lovely ladys instructional video today.. thank you, it was great in sight to see just whats involved.
I like using that top edge that often comes away, if it's thick enough, for little whittles. I did an eagle's head not long ago from the 'scrap' off the bark. Thanks for a great video! That bark is beautiful!!!
I had so many questions about Kathryn’s bark houses, thanks for this instructional video got my all answers.
Kathryn you are amazing when I watched you doing art I wished instead of choosing to be a mechanics I should do something like that for live.
Love you all love to watch your uploads when I watch you guys I feel so positive about everything 🥰
Glad it was helpful!

That is amazing! Great teacher!
We agree!
Awesome presentation, very well prepared to illustrate various stages with a couple pointers from raw material to finishing details. Terrific job!
Many thanks!
Thank you for the detailed video. I just started carving houses with my Dad. In the video you mentioned a pdf. How do I find that for download?
👋🏼
Where can you procure Cotton Wood bark to make this kind of carvings?
Most is harvested in the North West in the US. Usually it is on a downed tree and the bark will just pull off.
Does Catherine have instagram? Would love to see more of her work.
This was a splendid presentation. All the different steps well prepared with example pieces. Only halfway in the video. I carved my second whimsical house a couple of weeks ago. They sure are fun and I came here to get some more and better ideas.

It so is expensive to get bark into Europe. I would really want some pieces, such a joy to carve, almost feels like cheating.
I bet. Its hard to get it in eastern Canada, I couldn't imagine getting it to Europe.
@@intlassocofwoodcarvers At least a 100 dollars on top off the price just for shipping...
I had the pleasure od carving some bark found by someone else and I found some myself but it no where near the thickness and density as they have in the US.
