Hey Matti! What a great tent, I got the UP-2 for my wife and me. These tents are not light but super sturdy, love it. Thank you for taking along and all the best from Austria 🤠👍🏕️🔥
Very nice tent 👍🏻 I like the idear of the door. I want to ovrtnight next month with my sled and huskies in the wood, too. But at first, I get my 3. Husky next week 😁
Excellent Video footage! Nice to see the UP-5 in use, I have the UP-2.... With the ropes out this tent is bomb proof and so warm... I also have the insulated floor extra.... you can use a rope off the main removeable umbrella pole during set up with your foot to help push up the tent that can be a struggle to start. Thanks for all your other outdoor tips and tricks that I have been using in the Canadian Rockies!! Your videos are excellent, keep up the great work!
Nice to hear that it’s bomb proof!!! I like it and we also got the insulated floor. Does it makes difference? I have never used it without so I have no idea. I agree. It’s really a warm (hot) tent!!! 😃 /Matti
@ definitely warmer and nicer to have insulated padding on the feet…. Some extra protection for floor of tent too when not using on snow… only draw back for me on the tent and stove is that they are heavy….. I would also like to try the Nortent PC version, I used to also have a Tentipi PC…. I can never make up my mind so many tents is the answer 🫣
C'est vraiment super d'avoir le doublage automatique de ta voix sur les vidéo, c'est bien mieux que les sous-titres. J'aime beaucoup tes images. Fais des caresses aux chiens de la part des Français. Merci Matti 🙂
I have planed a video about introducing a dog to the kennel. I have filmed lots of material but no time for editing… 😳 I will show you more of the ‘catastrophe situations’… 🤣 /Matti
I have been using a Silva free headlamp and I'm pleased with it. I do the same as you and sore the battery inside my clothes. It's Swedish design so I was surprised you don't use one.
I have really bad experience with Silva lamps 10-20 years ago. They break down all the time. They had a good service and always replaced it but it was still difficult when you standing out there without the light… Hopefully they are better nowadays. /Matti
The new dogs that are stressed, are those puppies from you that just started there training or have the been rehomed to you recently? Haha I so feel with you when going out with ”fully recharged sled dogs” they are crazy 🤪 😂
Great video when you started the trip. The shots from the back and high were they taken from a drone? I enjoy your videos, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Figure I would let you know your link for the tent has an error in it, it picked up the word 'wood' on the end from the next item in your list, the wood stove. The flashlight I like for cold weather is the Nitecore HU2000, it runs on any usb power pack and you can put inside your layers, has a very wide beam and can reach decently far for a headlamp.
Thanks for noticing that with the link! I tried to fix it but it looks like it works for me without fixing!?!? Nitecore makes lots of good equipment. I love their concept with using power banks! It’s really a great idea!!! /Matti
@@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA Looks like the link is fixed now. Ya Nitecore and Fenix are my 2 favorite brands, I also like Acebeam but you need to buy from a third party that will warranty the flashlight as Acebeam themselves don't always honor their "5 year" warranty
I haven’t tried the non-stop parka before. The Fjällräven are leaking cold somewhere over my chest. Of course snowmobile in 50km/h while it’s -35C is a kind of extreme situation but I expect it should be warmer! It’s difficult to find your way into the jacket… you can get lost in the jacket. 🤣 It’s a kind of project to come into it… I don’t regret the jacket but it’s not 100% perfect… /Matti
Harness angling dogs drive me crazy. They flip the sled, break skis, and stress me out. You don't have any harness chewers when you stop for a long time? How is condensation in the tent? I like the flip/flop door concept. Thanks for the video.
Luckily we don’t have any harness eater right now… We have a few of them that know how to do since they were youngsters and it could happen that they use the skills tomorrow… but luckily… no one right now!!! This tent is made with a fabric that will get condensation. When we spend the night in the tent, the wood stove was burning a little bit the whole night and that kept the air circulating enough. If you get condensation it will be gone more or less directly when you start the stove in the morning. /Matti
I see the chimney is placed in front of the stove, usually they are on the back end. What kind of construction is this, is there a "channel" inside that directs the flames backwards in the stove and then to the front and the chimney?I use the Lupine Piko myself, with the extension cable you can connect and have the battery in your pocket or inside the jacket. I also use the diffusor for Piko because I find the lightstream is a little bit too concentrated when using it in camp.
There is a kind of channel for the smoke in the stove. That should reduce heat loss. I haven’t used it enough to be able to give a good answer if it’s good or bad. Theoretical… it’s a good idea… In reality we have to try a little bit more. /Matti
@@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA Maybe it was G-stove that had similar solution with a steel plate inside right under the top-plate. To prevent the flames going directly out the chimney in the back. In theory that will distribute heat better and save firewood. Ordinary stoves have had this solution long time.
It’s not a Lundhags but very similar. This is called Jörn. I buy them big. I have normally 41 but for this shoes I have 45! I also have extra inner shoes made of wool and several layers of wool socks. :-) If you check out channel Stina made a video about how to keep the feet warm and about different shoes for low temperatures. /Matti /Matti
I don’t know… That’s a really old one with a broken zipper. It was insulated with primaloft gold. I really liked it but I very rarely use it. Now I got my third Black Diamond Belay Parka. That’s a good one but the Rab is thinner and not as bulky as the Black Diamond. /Matti

(1 pair of poly liners PER DAY!) MITTENS-> polyester glove liners, Dachstein boiled wool mittens inside a Gore-Tex mitten shell. *8 If I slept in my cold tent in my -20 F. down mummy bag at -30 C. I would need to wear my down pants and heavy wool sweater and a heavy fleece balaclava.
