Behind the scenes is always a much different picture than in front. A lot of hard busy work to make it all happen. Sure most clients really appreciate it. I aspire to be one some cold ass winter day and nite. See the lights. Shovel the dog shit. The show goes on. You all be safe especially when the ice begins to melt. Pet and love those dogs
This is beautiful ❤❤❤ I am so happy at the humane treatment of all the dogs here, none of them are chained, and the dogs all appear genuinely healthy and very happy. If there is a heaven on earth, this is truly it. May God Bless You Always ❤❤❤
Hard work for what you love! Very inspiring to me. The 7 days tour with Matti and the dogs to the Gate of Sarek a week ago still keeps me smiling. Thanks for all your work and videos, this rocks 😊
Hi Katja!!! So nice to hear you watch our videos and that the experience with the dogs and us still keeps you smiling ❤️. Hope to see you again in the future! /Stina
Well all I can say is if I was 20 instead of 71 I would pack up and move to your town and volunteer to work for you. I love the snow and cold. But alas I will just stay here in north Idaho and wait for the snow to go winter camping and ice fishing. Thanks for the video.
11:32: Matti and Stina: we really appreciate what you do. This is really hard work! And the dogs are just as hard working as you and they are so cute, well-behaved, cuddly…
So impressed by your work and really nice of you to show the backside of your daily life. I would say: - What you are doing is not a work, it's a calling. Continue your good work and I really wish I will join one of your dog sled tours one day, sooner rather than later ;)
V-e-r-y interesting; For the dogs, "No fighting/growling" at meal time. That has taken a lot of dog training on your part. Did you or Matti, tan the Reindeer hides? So much time & effort getting ready/prepared for two tours AND you need to be socially friendly/happy with your guests - that's asking a lot out of both Stina & Matti. YES, YES, YES - more "behind-the scenes" videos. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Hi AZ! Thank you for always watching our videos ❤ and for supporting us! No, we don't tan the reindeer hides by ourselves. They are just dried and we buy them from the local reindeer herders. If you are going to use them indoors you should have tanned hides. /Stina
Thank you once again. I always enjoy watching your videos. I'm very impressed at how efficient and calm the two of you are while taking care of so many dogs and the accompanying chores. The dogs always look very happy and healthy. Keep up the good work 🙂👍
Thank you! We have just finished the winter season and will start to post videos more frequently again now. A new dog sledding video will come this weekend 😊. / Stina & Matti
Honestly clicking on this video i thought i was goign to watch a documentary on abuse of sled dogs, mistreatment and such. (I dont know your channel so this is my first exposure to it), but i m happy i was wrong and you showed us this kind dive into the goings on. Thank you
Thank you! We have made several videos about how we take care of our dogs as well. If you're interested, you find one of them here: th-cam.com/video/jBBl8UYAGVA/w-d-xo.html /Stina
You guys should make a video, introducing each dog and what the story is behind their names or how you decide names for them / what position they have in the tour groups.
Just found your videos. I really enjoyed this one! I am a sled dog musher living in northeastern Minnesota. This video brought back a lot of memories of my many years guiding dog sled tours. With only 15 dogs in my kennel now, I run them for the shear joy of it. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to watching your other videos.
I ended up a Siberian Husky. Older hound. And now I catch a few videos of the good boys and girls happily towing sleds along and playing. Such stubborn and tough dogs. Great treatment of them.
Thanks for input!!! The training season is on over here and I will make more videos about that. Have you seen some of our films from the longer tours? I try to share some knowledge and ideas in each film. /Matti
Tack för en utmärkt film! Underbart att få följa livet bakom, ser ut som mycket hårt arbete o lite sömn, men härligt att ha som arbete/liv❄️👍. Inget behov av att gå på gymmet efter jobbet 😂
I give my dog also meat, someday someone told me I could not give my dog frozen meat because it would be bad for my dog's stomach, I just laughed and said go and tell that to the wolves and foxes out in nature that they should make a fire first in winter to heat up their food. It must have taken a lot of extra time last Saturday to clear all the snow.
Yeah, it was a heavy snowfall Saturday night. It took me 3 hours to clear the snow 😅 Our dogs actually prefer the meat frozen, so they can chew on it. Also good for the teeth. /Stina
Watching your video on my big screen TV and Mandy my golden retriever didn’t like the huskies in her living room! Lots of barking at the tv specially when Daisy her sister joined in. All the best from Canada!
Thanks for sharing❤ was really interesting to be on your daily work. Was a great method /tool you had for scooping poop 😅 But practical when it a bit frozen.
Just imagining the work it takes the corral fifty extremely hyper, high-energy dogs. Plus the different clashing personalities going on there between different dogs... it's a full-time job from the moment you walk into that yard til the moment you put the dogs to bed.
Thank you!!! We do many different kinds of tours, both these short tours but also overnigt tours from 2-12 days. Most of these short 3 hour tours I think we do over New Year, then we do about 2 a day for a week. /Stina
Haha, you're the second person asking about the poop. We have a place where we dump it together with natural materials like leaves, needles, woodstraw from the dog houses and garden, etc. And then it compost and becomes soil after some time. /Stina
Hey Stina and Matti, that was as allways a very nice Video! Thank you for that. I have a Question. Where goes all that Dog-Poop? Greetings from Germany, Christian
Good question! We have a place where we dump it together with nature materials like leaves, needles, and other stuff from the garden and then it becomes soil after some time. /Stina
Amazing video, thank you! I have worked as a shepherd on a N.Z sheep station and know a lot of behind the scenes routine. Sure looks like you could do with a hand now and then through the busy season, are you able to offer a Woofer (excuse the pun) type arrangement?
We have tried Workaway/woofer a few times. We have get help from great people but it also cost a lot of energy. We actually figured out that it's easier to just make things by ourselves. 😀 /Matti
Thank you! Tours for a few hours we call short. We make tours from 1 hour to 12 days. If you're curious, you find info about all our tours at our website: jokkmokkguiderna.com/en 😊./Stina
Wow, the poop 💩 seems to be a hot topic in this video. You're the 3rd person asking 🤣. We have a place where we dump it together with natural materials like leaves, needles, woodstraw from the dog houses and garden, etc. And then it compost and becomes soil after some time. /Stina
Adorable ❤ pups. Hope, they are happy ❤. Your life is 1000 times better and much more pleasant ❤. You are around gorgeous Adorable huskies and you don't to see everyday f..... faces on train in NYC. Blessings ,guys. All the BEST to you and your adorable ❤️ pups.
How do you create names for your dogs ? What is the logic (process) behind ? What gives you inspiration ? Does (did) each of your dogs have a unique name ?
Lot of work behind the scenes. I wanna know if you show how can drive a sled and so if you have any kind of tour where the client can drive our own sled. Thanks in advance.
We have many tours where you drive your own sled. Check out our website: jokkmokkguiderna.com/en We also have made many TH-cam videos from these longer tours. You find them all on out channel. 😊 /Stina
Hi do u do northern lights and yes of course the dog sledding is there already. How much is the package deal for the northern lights and dog sledding? And where can we message u directly if even we want to do the tour?this is tromso right?
We are located in Jokkmokk in Swedish Lapland. We do have northern lights here, but it's a natural phenomenon, and there is no guarantee to see it. It depends both on the sun activity but also the weather, if it's clear sky or not. You find all our tours on our website, jokkmokkguiderna.com . We both do short tours for a few hours but also long tours over several days. /Stina
The oldest and still cleanest greenist way to travel 🛷 ever !!!!
Here in Scotland we bike to replace the snow work 😅 keep up the hard work 🐾

I'm so impressed by how you feed your dogs and how they can all coexist in the yard. They're so well trained!
Thank you!
If we tried feeding Canadian Inuit dogs this way, there would definitely be some "disagreements" 😂. Great team!
Hi 👋,
Super nice to see what it takes to give the client a super experience 👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! /Stina
Another really interesting video, shows how much work you put in, great stuff.
