  • I make some small changes to see if we can pick up anything on this 6 speed bolt on F150.
A couple tips in the video on how to get a decent time.
Do you think and 11s pass is possible with this truck?

Badass to see content on some gen 2’s ! Definitely getting a stall after seeing this

The hotter IAT run was downhill. Faster pass with the cooler IAT was uphill. A slope difference of over .60. So that hot IAT difference is bigger than it looks.

What’s a good rev limit for my 3.31 6 speed with
    Ported boss-
    Pmas
    Catless y pipe and exhaust
Rn it shifts at 7500. Is 7700 dangerous

Depends on where the truck goes fastest, every truck is a little different, 7700 rpm is not dangerous for a NA coyote

You told him to get a stall? What do you mean by a stall

A different torque converter, so he can launch the truck at a higher RPM.

Could you swap a 6r80 to a 10r80 and keep up with the 18+ f150s?

You can, but it wouldn’t be worth your money, I’d spend the same money on boost, at high HP levels it’s doesn’t matter if you have a 6 speed or 10 speed.

No. The Bell Housing is different for the motor and trans between Gen 1-2 & Gen 3. You are better off trading your truck in for a newer truck. Don’t waste your time

      @@allmotorresearchlabs would the 6 speed lose a 1/4 miiile to a 10 speed if both n/a?

    • @lil2.74

Thats a loaded question. Not necessarily. Equal weight, mods, tires and rear gear...yes. 10 speed has a 4.70 1st gear. 6 speed has a 4.17. So if the 10 speed has 3.31 rear gears, thats a 1st gear FDR of 15.5:1. If the 6 speed has 3.55 rear gears, the FDR in first is 14.8:1. You would have to have 3.73s with the 6 speed to compete in ratio vs a 10 speed with 3.31s. And that get worse as you go up in shifts. 2nd in a 10 speed is 2.99, 6 speed is 2.34. Yes the close ratios in a 10 speed keeps it in the power, but in et 60 ft times are a big deal. 4.17 cant launch like 4.70 with an engine that doesn't produce massive low end torque. Quicker you get rpm, the better. Ecoboost don't mind the taller gears due to big low end torque. Or boosted Coyotes.
