Milan and Nathan are back trying to “seal the deal” after Milan’s live bait got eaten by a huge King Fish with no hook in it. The most insane couple of day’s fishing on the rocks are about to unfold, including Great white sharks swimming around at our feet!

Pretty special alright. To see those sharks was just unreal! I couldn’t stop filming them 😂 I had to sifted through all my footage and deleted heaps of clips that had great with sharks in them 😳 it just didn’t seem right 😂 but I had so much. Mate !!! some of the most stunning footage i have ever seen. Not to mention the 3 Great whites all wanting a piece of the action !!!! That place is actually mental. I wouldn't be surprised if a marlin decided to pop up next to the rocks at this point.

Awesome to hear. I was on the edge of the rocks all day scared they were gonna eat the baits and then have the hooks stuck in there mouth until they rust out. But all in all we did ok, only had one bait eaten by sharks in 2 days 😎

Where is the location?
Awesome work! What’s the line you are spooled with and what’s your live bait set up? I’ve been getting smoked off the rocks using 35lb mono onto 120lb fluorocarbon trace
If we are chasing kings then it’s 80lb minimum!!! And if I think there are big kings around then it’s PE 10 braid (137lb breaking strain) to a 140lb mono leader! Milan has got smoked recently on 80lb gear more then once 😂😂😂

Thats some wicked fishing!! We fished off the island mid December... spotted some massive kings from high up but the kahawai just didn't want any of our techniques. Also, do you guys know if the rocks you lads went along is tide dependent? Ie. Coming back home during high tide. The island becomes well over head high during a high tide. Cheerrs lads. Keep the videos coming👌🤙🤙

@@TheLateralLine in a 10ft dinghy in the 90s we hauled n released (most)snapper after snapper non stop next to that breaking rock , none under 8lb a couple up to 20 plus . id taken a young kid out for his first fish!
That wash rock is insane a. We were talking to guys at the camp ground that were catching kings everyday there until there arms were to sore to catch any more

Last time I was on the eastern side of the cape shallow soft baiting for snapper I was admiring some of the breaks. Probably not a good spot to surf haha. Keep it up guys. Good to see you on again.

I had a fish off the beach island some 24 years ago when I was a kid. Caught a big kahawai with a little bit of thread tied to a mosquito hook, straight off a spool will targeting Blue Mao Mao. Magical moment and a magical place, the olds were definitely impressed :)

That's a great fish alright. Was holding onto my seat for a while thought the fish was going to swim around the burly bag and snag. I fish some of the same ledges as you guys and look forward to bumping into yous. It's about time the land based kingfish record was broken and i came across a squadron of ten kings almost identical in size a few months back up the top end of the coromandel that would have been contenders for that heavy weight title. They dwarfed the 30kg fish that i had landed. It's a vision i cannot forget. It keeps me awake at night planning and visualizing the day it happens! The day i smash the records ...

@@TheLateralLine holly shit balls alright i went week at the knees and hart was beating so fast i thought I was going to meet old Neptune himself. The sad thing was i had packed all my gear up and was halfway up the cliffs heading for home. I watched those kings swim around the coast and then head out towards square top. They will still be around that channel some were terrorizing the schools off bait.

Yes, a legal king fish in New Zealand is anything longer then 75cm. We like to let the big ones go and we were along way from home with no real good way to preserve the meat, so that one lives to fight another day. Thanks for watching 😎

That evacuation was seriously sketchy knowing that you could fall into shark-infested waters if there's a problem.
