Nato has set Milan the task of catching a big snapper before he is allowed to catch another kingfish. Then Nato has a bedtime story about a pack of kingfish hammering a live bait.

Hey guys, my wife and I stayed at that camp site last February (2020) on our one month trip to New Zealand! (from the UK) I fished from the shore. Caught a few fish. Wish I had meet you guys there!

We have a portable toilet in the boat. It’s pretty ummmmmmm painful 🤮 but it’s all part of the fun 😂 thanks for watching

One question I have though, what is the reason the aluminium boats are predominantly used? Instead of Glassfiber for example.

The main reason we are in Aluminium boats is because we wanted something very different to the norm. Sojourn was custom designed and custom built exactly how we wanted it. To do that in fibreglass an entire mould would need to be created which for a one off boat would make it ridiculously expensive. We appreciate the comment 😎😁👍

Lots of alloy boats in NZ yes, but there are some amazing fibreglass boat builders to. We were fishing from Tristram boats for a few years which I believe is the best glass boats made in NZ 👍

Unreal footage. I spent hours casting stickbaits at that marker a few weeks back for no result, would have been very interesting having a drone to see if the kings just weren't hungry or weren't there
They get fished at lots and lots. Really hard to get one on a lure in my mind for that reason. They wouldn’t eat a fly 😳😳 but they have also been there one day and not the next so god only knows man. It’s always worth a cast, first cast is the best cast 😎👍
Awesome episode😛 as always🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊👾👾👾👾. In the north best time for big snapper of the rocks is from mid April through till August best months being may and june early july off the rocks that is basically when the harbours empty out of the school fish as the water cools.

@@TryABaconSlice yeah bruv, I rate briggsy’s one dope but I’ve never been a fan of the whole tension on the line idea when tying. Nato’s sinching down both the mainline and tag end after ever 8 wraps has been my go to instead, found it way easier to tie FG’s on the boat that way.
@@CaffeineDogg Gotcha, I honestly use both of those methods. If I'm re-tying at home I will do it Briggsy style and if I'm on the boat it is Nathans one, although the part of Briggsy's I really like is the rizutto finish and the using a lighter to finish the knots (not sure if the old BAF one had that included).
@@TryABaconSlice absolutely, I love the rizuto finish. I’ve begun using it on heaps of stuff for finishing knots. Improved uni is basically a rizuto finish and I find i never chafe my fluro leader when I use it that way now.
I can’t remember if the old BAF video had the rizuto either.

You guys should try a release weight to help with the barotrauma in snapper. Seems to help a lot here in South Aus where there is a snapper ban
Have seen some info on that, we don’t normally have a problem with them swimming away but that one was foul hooked under it jaw so it kept getting pulled up side down and the fight was longer to as a result, which sadly was ultimately that snappers doom 😕 it went to good use at least 👍
It works pretty well for a lot of reefies that suffer from barotrauma. Definitely good it didn't go to waste tho that's for sure. Hate seeing them go belly up but sometimes there is no choice. Keep up the great work love the channel.

My best effort was two 60kg 316 stainless anchors in one day at Nth Solitary. About $800 each. Boss was stoked when we got home and told him. Lucky i still had a job after that one.

If you are land based I would recommend looking into slide baiting and slide bait a live kahawai or mackerel off the rocks on the entrance side of the Bowentown heads
